'Aquaman 2' Gets Official Release Date

Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman sequel will be hitting theater in over three years!

The DC Entertainment Universe movie was given a release date today. Expect to see the new film on December 16, 2022. Aquaman 2 might have some competition that weekend as there’s an untitled live action movie from Disney set to be released that same weekend in 2022. Stay tuned!

If you’re going to need an Aquaman fix sooner than that, the studio will be releasing the first Aquaman film on DVD and Blu-ray on March 26. Be sure to check it out!

'Aquaman' Sequel Officially In The Works

Aquaman finally has a sequel in the works!

The massively successful DC Comics flick is starting to put the pieces together for new film, according to THR.

Warner Bros. has recruited Aquaman co-writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to begin penning the sequel.

James Wan and Peter Safran are also making deals to return as producers for the movie.

The news of the sequel comes almost two months after the first film’s massive $67.8 million opening weekend. The studio reportedly did not want to rush the movie’s team into making the second film.

Since the flick’s debut, the studio announced a spinoff surrounding Aquaman villain The Trench.

'Aquaman' Continues Box Office Domination!

Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman is continuing to reign supreme at the weekend box office.

This weekend, the film brought in an additional $30.7 million, bringing the film’s domestic total to a whopping $259.7 million.

The new film Escape Room brought in $18 million in its debut at the box office this weekend, which is good enough for second place this weekend.

Rounding out the top five movies of the weekend are Mary Poppins Returns, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and Bumblebee, which earned $15.7 million, $13.0 million, and $12.7 millionn, respectively.

'Aquaman' Dominates the Weekend Box Office Again

Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman has easily taken first place at the weekend box office.

The film – also starring Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, and Patrick Wilson – brought in an additional $51.5 million at the box office this weekend in its second week in theaters!

Mary Poppins Returns earned a second place spot at the box office after earning $28.0 million at the box office.

Rounding out the top five are Bumblebee, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and The Mule, which each earned $20.5 million, $18.3 million, and $11.7 million, respectively.

'Aquaman' Dominates the Christmas Box Office!

Aquaman is the big winner this Christmas!

The Jason Momoa-starring DC superhero movie dominated at the box office, bringing in $22 million on Tuesday (December 25) for a five-day total of $105 million during the Christmas box office, according to Variety on Wednesday (December 26).

It’s also one of the best Christmas Day box offices ever, beat out only by Avatar and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Aquaman has now grossed over $550 million worldwide.

Mary Poppins Returns came in at second place this Christmas with $11.6 million, giving it a $50 million since it opened one week prior. Bumblebee landed at third with $8.9 million, resulting in a five-day total of $34.27 million.

'Aquaman' Makes Big Splash in Debut Weekend at Box Office

Aquaman has opened to big numbers in its opening weekend at the box office!

The film, starring Jason Momoa, Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, and more, brought in $67.4 million and earned a first place spot at the box office.

Coming in second place at the box office was Emily Blunt‘s Mary Poppins Returns, which earned $22.2 million this weekend, and since it officially opened earlier in the week on Wednesday, earned $31 million over five days.

Rounding out the top five movies at the box office were Bumblebee, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and The Mule, which earned $21 million, $16.7 million, and $9.9 million, respectively.
