'The Prom' Netflix Movie Musical Will Star Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande, & More!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, it appears as if Ariana will not star in this movie after all.

Ryan Murphy is bringing Broadway’s The Prom to Netflix in the form of a movie musical, and the all-star cast was just revealed!

The cast includes Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande, with Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key and Andrew Rannells, Deadline reports.

The movie will hit theaters in the fall of 2020 for a planned awards season run. The movie will then stream on Netflix.

Meryl will star as Streep will play Dee Dee Allen, a two-time Tony winner, while Ariana will play the daughter of the head of the PTA. Stay tuned as more casting will be announced soon, including the leading role of Emma.

The Prom‘s official Broadway synopsis is: A new musical comedy about big Broadway stars, a small town, and a love that unites them all.

Ariana Grande Adds Handful Of New 'Sweetener' Tour Dates For Fall

Ariana Grande just announced 19 new dates for her Sweetener tour!

The 25-year-old singer revealed all the the dates on her Twitter earlier this week.

The new dates include the rescheduled Tampa and Orlando dates, which she had to cancel because she had an allergic reaction to tomatoes.

Ariana announced the new dates just after loving on her fans on Twitter.

“Nothing is better than watching y’all sing at these shows knowing all the words n living your best lives …. thank u 🌫 okay i’ll be back in another week to tell u this same thing again,” she wrote.

Ariana Grande Expresses Her Love For Taylor Swift's 'You Need To Calm Down' Music Video

Taylor Swift is getting a lot of love for her new video for “You Need To Calm Down” and one of the biggest fans is Ariana Grande!

Ariana took to her Instagram Story this afternoon, shouting out Taylor and good friend, Tatianna, who is featured in the visual, that premiered earlier this week.

“ty for having me in your video, i was amazing @taylorswift,” Ariana joked, pointing out Tatianna‘s appearance.

Ariana added, “Taylor, congrats on YNTCD. I f***ing love it and the message soooooo much.”

Ariana Grande Lends Her Vocals To Social House's New Single 'Haunt You'

Social House officially dropped their new single “Haunt You” and there’s a very familiar voice on it!

The duo – Michael “Mikey” Foster and Charles “Scootie” Anderson – got their pal Ariana Grande to sing background vocals on the song.

Social House is currently one of the acts opening up for Ariana on her Sweetener World Tour. They also produced her smash hit singles “thank u, next” and “7 Rings.”

“For me, ‘Haunt You’ is about making the best of the time you have with loved ones regardless of the circumstances because time is something you’ll NEVER get back,” Scootie said of the song.

“‘Haunt You’ is about appreciating the beauty in the things you love, even if they’re no longer yours,” Mikey added.

Ariana Grande Plays Mac Miller's Songs Ahead of Concert Date Set in His Hometown

Ariana Grande‘s tribute to her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller during her concert stop in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Penn., will hit you right in the feels.

Ahead of hitting the stage last night (June 12), it’s reported the 25-year-old singer played several of the late rapper’s biggest hits in the venue before starting her performance.

However, during the opening number “Raindrops (An Angel Cried),” which is widely rumored to be about the end of their relationship, she got choked up while singing the song.

Ariana also didn’t sing Mac‘s lyric in “Thank u, next” which goes “Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm / ‘Cause he was an angel.”

However, fans took over and sang them for her.

Ariana had another tribute to Mac on her tour just a few months ago.

Ariana Grande Donates Atlanta Concert Proceeds to Planned Parenthood

Ariana Grande is taking a stance against Georgia’s anti-abortion laws.

The 26-year-old entertainer has donated the proceeds of her sold-out June 8th The Sweetener Tour concert in Atlanta to Planned Parenthood, TMZ reports.

It is being reported that the organization will receive about a $300,000 donation from Ariana.

After Georgia passed controversial abortion law, which would prohibit an abortion after about six weeks, many entertainment companies have pulled production from the state, which Disney and Netflix are both contemplating doing.

Ariana Grande Reacts to Homophobic Protester Outside Show

Ariana Grande was not happy when she learned of anti-LGBTQ protesting happening outside of her recent concert.

The 25-year-old “7 rings” singer took to Twitter on Sunday (June 9) to voice her love and support for the LGBTQ community.

The night before, a fan tweeted a video of a man standing outside of Ariana‘s concert venue, carrying a rainbow sign with the word “Pride” crossed out as well as a microphone, which he used to spread anti-LGBTQ messages.

“Man… saddened but not surprised by this one bit,” Ariana commented on the video, which you can watch here. “I’m so sorry any of my fans had to encounter this. we will do our best to ensure this doesn’t happen again. proud of u all for not fighting / engaging violently. never worth it. wishing him peace & a healed heart cause girl yikes.”

“He is highly outnumbered,” she continued. “You are all so celebrated and loved and safe. 🖤✨.”

She added, “Also, he was doing the be alright choreo in his garage later that night, i promise.”
