Arnold Schwarzenegger Opens Up Self-Esteem Issues: 'When I Look In The Mirror, I Throw Up'

Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t as confident as you may think.

The 69-year-old The New Celebrity Apprentice boss recently opened up about struggling with self-esteem issues.

“When I look in the mirror, I throw up,” Arnold told Cigar Aficionado (via People). “And I was already so critical of myself, even when I was in top physical shape. I’d look in the mirror after I won one Mr. Olympia after another and think, ‘How did this pile of s— win?’ ”

“I never saw perfection,” he added. “There was always something lacking. I could always find a million things wrong with myself and that’s what got me back into the gym — because I started out with that mentality.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He May Hire Donald Trump as Guest Advisor on 'Celebrity Apprentice'

Arnold Schwarzenegger has nothing but respect towards president-elect Donald Trump.

After he defended Trump’s role as executive producer of Celebrity Apprentice, the 69-year-old actor and former governor of California said he’s looking forward to taking over hosting duties of the show.

“We can’t always know how everything is going to unfold and this is what it is,” Arnold told People magazine. “The bottom line is that Trump did a great job for 14 seasons and I had big shoes to fill in this 15th season. I love the show and I’d always wanted to do something like this. I’m so grateful he ran for office so I had the opportunity.”

Arnold went on to say that he hopes Trump will join on the show in the future!

“I don’t think that he’s going to be co-hosting with me [but] maybe we can have him as one of the guest advisors or something like that if he has time,” Arnold said.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Defends Donald Trump's Continued Role with 'Apprentice'

Arnold Schwarzenegger has spoken out to defend Donald Trump for retaining his role as an executive producer on The New Celebrity Apprentice while in office as the President of the United States.

The 69-year-old actor compares the situation to him earning royalty checks for Terminator while serving as the Governor of California.

“I knew from the beginning that [Trump] is executive producer on the show,” Arnold said (via THR). “It is no different then when I was governor. My credit on Terminator said ‘Arnold Schwarzenegger’ when I was governor. I made royalties. That didn’t change.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger Would Run for President if He Could

Arnold Schwarzenegger is featured on the cover of AdWeek‘s new issue and he opens up to the mag about why he would have run for the President of the United States if he could.

Because the 69-year-old actor was not born in the country, he is not eligible to run for the highest office, even though he served as the Governor of California.

“If I’d been born in America, I would’ve run,” Arnold said. “Because now? This was a very good time to get in the race.”

While Arnold played a big role in the political world, he said, “I didn’t love politics, but I love policy.”
