Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen attend Superga‘s opening launch party on Wednesday (May 30) in New York City.

The 25-year-old fashion designers celebrated the Italian sneaker brand’s first American store in Soho, where they met up with shoe designer Steve Madden.

“I’ve always liked Superga. When I went to Italy as a kid I saw girls wearing backpacks with Superga,” he told Fashionista.

“I thought it was really cute. I thought it’d be great. And so I said [something] to Ashley Olsen … and she goes ‘I love Superga.’ I said I’ll get it for you, I’ll bring it to America and you’ll be my creative director. So that’s how it happened,” Steve added about their collaboration.

The annual Spring Benefit, which was hosted by the Today show’s Hoda Kotb, honored Victor Cruz, NY Giants Wide Receiver, and the Olsens.

The Fresh Air Fund regularly sends inner city children to host families or to camp to experience country life.

Ashley Olsen tries to keep a low profile as she heads into a nail salon for a little pampering on Wednesday (May 9) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 25-year-old fashion designer kept her dark sunglasses on inside the nail salon to help stay incognito.

Emmy, 25, was joined by her boyfriend, Tyler Jacob Moore, and her Shameless co-star Shanola Hampton.

Fashionistas Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are featured on a special double cover edition of Elle UK‘s latest issue.

Here’s what the 25-year-old designers had to share:

M-K, on their plans to expand into retail: “It’s about being creative, but having a bigger vision for that creativity. For a designer to be successful nowadays, they need to know much more than just design. [Tom Ford], his career is astonishing – the way he’s been able to do everything he has wanted to do and really not compromise at all. From fashion to film, it’s such a singular vision.”

Ashley, on not trusting others to run their businesses: “We are perfectionists. We’ve always wanted to be closely involved with everything, totally hands on – that’s why it works. If we step away, it stops working. I know it sounds controlling, but that’s how it has to be.”
