Vanessa Hudgens has agreed to pay a $1,000 fine after carving a red rock wall during a trip to Sedona, Arizona.
The 27-year-old actress was with her boyfriend Austin Butler while traveling to the location for Valentine’s Day this year and she posted a photo on Instagram of the heart she carved into the rock. It read “Austin + Vanessa.”
Vanessa was issued a citation for “a misdemeanor count of damaging a natural feature on U.S. Forest Service land,” according to the Associated Press.
“She was caught in the act because she publicized it and she’s famous,” Coconino National Forest Service spokesman Brady Smith said in a statement. “I’m sure there are others who are not famous and publicized it and we’ve never known.”
The $1,000 fine will be used by a volunteer group to remove the carving.
