Riley Christian and Maurissa Gunn have decided to end their engagement.

The couple, who made history on Bachelor in Paradise in summer 2021 as the first Black couple to get engaged on the program, revealed the news to fans with a statement.

“We have decided to go our separate ways. Never did we imagine this, but we’ve come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves,” Maurissa and Riley shared with People.

The former couple added, “We’ve appreciated everyone’s love and support so far throughout our journey and we just ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate through this.”

Riley and Maurissa were one of three couples to get engaged in the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise, alongside Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, and Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin.

There wasn’t just one, but three engagements on the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise!

Brendan Morais and Pieper James‘s future on Bachelor in Paradise was revealed on Tuesday’s episode (September 14).

Last week, the two were confronted about their pre-existing relationship before they arrived on the show and it all came into the open after Pieper had crashed his date with Natasha Parker.

Just before the rose ceremony on the show, Brendan and Pieper revealed if they would be staying on or leaving.

Pieper James is speaking out over what happened on last night’s Bachelor in Paradise.

If you didn’t see, Pieper and Brendan Morais were overheard discussing their Instagram follower counts after first being linked together in June, and when she arrived on the program, asked him out on a date while he was coupled up with Natasha Parker.

Until this week’s episode, Brendan and Pieper denied that there was anything between them.

Throughout the season, there have been rumors that Brendan was in a relationship with former The Bachelor contestant Pieper James until the days leading up to filming. He has denied those allegations and has said they were just casually hung out “a few times.”

Brendan entered a relationship with Natasha Parker on Bachelor in Paradise and even turned down Demi Burnett, after their date, to be with her.
