Barbra Streisand Apologizes for Michael Jackson Remarks: 'I Am Profoundly Sorry'

Barbra Streisand has officially apologized for the things she said about the allegations against Michael Jackson.

The legendary singer and actress previously was asked about the documentary Leaving Neverland and she had this to say: “You can say ‘molested,’ but those children, as you heard say [the grown-up Robson and Safechuck], they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”

Barbra already spoke out this morning with a statement to clarify her remarks and now she has released an apology on her website.

“I am profoundly sorry for any pain or misunderstanding I caused by not choosing my words more carefully about Michael Jackson and his victims, because the words as printed do not reflect my true feelings,” she said. “I didn’t mean to dismiss the trauma these boys experienced in any way. Like all survivors of sexual assault, they will have to carry this for the rest of their lives. I feel deep remorse and I hope that James and Wade know that I truly respect and admire them for speaking their truth.”

Barbra Streisand Clarifies Michael Jackson Comments After Backlash

Barbra Streisand is speaking out to clarifying the remarks she made recently about the allegations against Michael Jackson in the documentary Leaving Neverland.

The legendary actress says she believes what Wade Robson and James Safechuck said in the film, but that “it didn’t kill them.”

In a new statement given to Variety, Barbra said, “To be crystal clear, there is no situation or circumstance where it is OK for the innocence of children to be taken advantage of by anyone. The stories these two young men shared were painful to hear, and I feel nothing but sympathy for them. The single most important role of being a parent is to protect their children. It’s clear that the parents of the two young men were also victimized and seduced by fame and fantasy.”

Barbra Streisand Believes Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations, But Says 'It Didn't Kill Them'

Barbra Streisand is causing controversy with her thoughts on Michael Jackson.

The 76-year-old stage and screen icon opened up in an interview with The Times published on Friday (March 22).

In the interview, Barbra blames the parents of Michael’s accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck for allowing them to sleep at his home, and says she “absolutely” believes them.

“His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has,” she went on to say.

“You can say ‘molested,’ but those children, as you heard say [the grown-up Robson and Safechuck], they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”

“It’s a combination of feelings. I feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him. I blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him. Why would Michael need these little children dressed like him and in the shoes and the dancing and the hats?”

Michael was accused of molestation by Wade and James in the recently released documentary, Leaving Neverland. His estate is now suing HBO for the film for $100 million, claiming “Michael Jackson is innocent period.”
