'Batman Vs. Superman' Movie Pushed One Year to May 2016

The release date for Henry Cavill‘s upcoming film Batman Vs. Superman has been pushed to 2016.

“We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases. We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers,” Warner Bros. Pictures announced in a statement.

The film, which was originally slated for a July 17, 2015 release date, will now hit theaters on May 6, 2016.

Jason Momoa is currently in talks to join the upcoming highly anticipated movie Batman vs. Superman, according to THR.

The 34-year-old actor’s role is not known, since the project, which will star Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, is being kept under wraps.

Rumors are swirling that Jason could play the movie’s possible villain Doomsday, “a Kryptonian scientifically engineered into an intergalactic killing machine.” Another possible character he could take on is the Martian Manhunter, “a super-powered alien trapped on Earth.”

In case you missed it, Gal Gadot was recently cast as Wonder Woman in the film.

Gal Gadot has just been cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming highly anticipated movie Batman vs. Superman, Variety reports!

The 28-year-old Israeli actress and model joins an all star cast including Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, as well as Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.

Not many plot details are known about the Zac Snyder-directed film, where the Dark Knight will face off against Superman.

Gal has previously been featured in many of the Fast & Furious franchise movies.
