Taylor Kitsch has joined Battleship, Universal’s big screen adaptation of the Hasbro board game. (The flick reportedly has an “alien invasion” element added to it.)
THR reports the Friday Night Lights hunk will play “wildly spirited” Naval commander Alex Hopper, who is “a great seaman but a lousy politician.”
Helming the action adventure movie is Peter Berg, who has directed Hancock and one episode of Fright Night Lights.
Taylor is currently shooting and starring as the titular character in John Carter of Mars (based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs book series).
Mr. Kitsch turns 29 today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAYLOR!
