Ben Higgins, the latest star of The Bachelor franchise, might be running for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives!

The 28-year-old reality star is “seriously considering a run” to represent House District 4, according to The Colorado Independent.

Ben, who is engaged to Lauren Bushnell, has already launched a website in which people can sign up for updates on his campaign. He will be getting the support of the Republicans and running against the current seat holder, Speaker Pro Tem Dan Pabon, a Democrat.

Willie Pinkston, the Republican nominee for the district, plans on stepping down if Ben decides to run.

“Whatever lies ahead, love, grace, and hope are ideals that guide my life. I will take them with me into my next adventure,” Ben said in a statement. “Lauren and I aren’t sure yet what that will be, but in terms of representing House District 4, Willie Pinkston is an amazing person and any decision I make regarding entering the race will be based on what is best for Willie, his family and for Lauren and me.”

The 32-year-old country singer was joined by fellow artists Keith Urban, Cassadee Pope, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, and the Zac Brown Band.

The engaged couple appeared on the show to talk about their experience on The Bachelor and dish details on their upcoming wedding.

“I want to marry Lauren quickly,” Ben said. “But I would like to wait a while, get our friends and family involved, make sure it’s something Lauren wants and that I want because we want this to be a celebration.”

In other news, Lauren just got an offer from Yandy.com to be the online lingerie and costume retailer’s spokesperson for their new wedding collection.

Ben and Lauren had their first official date in public on Wednesday when they stepped out at the Landmarc Restaurant for dinner.

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell look smitten with each other while stepping out for another post-engagement appearance on Tuesday (March 15) in New York City.

The 27-year-old The Bachelor star responded to concerns over the lack of diversity with the casting of the new The Bachelorette in a conference call with reporters.

“First off, JoJo as the bat, I think she deserves it,” Ben said (via Variety). “How they decide on The Bachelorette is not up to me. I didn’t even know I was in consideration to the next Bachelor until they called me.”

Lauren was asked if she had anything to add on the subject and she said, “No, I think Ben pretty much summed it up. Neither him or myself have anything to do with the decision-making.”

The 27-year-old Bachelor and Lauren, 25, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that evening after the big reveal! The next day, they woke up bright and early for Good Morning America in New York City.

Ben Higgins just got down on one knee to propose to one of the remaining two contestants on The Bachelor during the finale on Monday (March 14).

The final two contestants were JoJo, a real estate developer, and Lauren B., a flight attendant.

The ending was super tense as both ladies got ready to meet Ben at the secluded location.
