Benjamin McKenzie is the latest celeb to join the Twitterverse!

“First. Tweet. Ever. Just a little short I made with some friends. Hope you enjoy. Be forewarned. It’s very serious,” the 32-year-old Southland actor wrote, adding a link to a video called “The Blisters” from Funny or Die.

Ben plays Dave, a guy who surprises his fellow bandmates as he goes through puberty in a matter of hours. Love when Dave pairs a tuxedo t-shirt with Hulk hands and yells at his dad!

Ben McKenzie steps out on Saturday night (February 19) to go to Hemingway’s Lounge in Hollywood.

The 32-year-old Southland actor chatted with a cameraman who followed him down the street.

Ben recently told USA Weekend that he’s okay with photogs who aren’t interested in catching his every move!

“I like it when [the paparazzi] look at you and are like, ‘He’s a little old – I don’t really even want to bother with who he is or isn’t dating.’ I think it’s fantastic,” he laughed.

Ben McKenzie chats with Ellen DeGeneres while making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing on Monday (February 14).

The 32-year-old actor was asked about his Valentine’s Day plans, but didn’t seem too excited for the big day!

“I knew you were going to get to this. I’m not married,” Ben said. “This is really going to cheer me up. I’m not married. Recently out of a relationship.”

Ben shared that his mom has given up on him getting married anytime soon.

“She’s given up on me. She’s moved on to my two younger brothers who are both married,” he said. “They’re more likely to give her grandkids at this point which is really the point of the whole exercise. I mean, she cares about me, she’s my mother. But it’s really about grandkids so she just moves on to them.”

Ben McKenzie returns to the Southland set for a new episode of the police drama on Wednesday (January 19) in Hollywood, Calif.

Earlier this month, the 32-year-old former OC actor spoke about why he currently prefers to be on a cable show.

“If you’re faced with the prospect of doing two or three unsatisfying movies that will either be very commercial and not challenge you as an actor or be small independent films that may not be that great and that no one will see,” Ben told the WSJ. “Versus being on a cable show where you get to say good words and challenge yourself on a daily basis and get paid for it, it’s hard to decide on the movie end of things.”

Southland airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on TNT!

Ben McKenzie films scenes for the new season of Southland with co-star Regina King on Wednesday (January 5) in Los Angeles, Calif.

The 32-year-old actor sat down with the WSJ to talk about the differences of filming The O.C. and Southland.

“The O.C. was all studio, more or less. In the studio, you have the problem of boredom. It becomes repetitive,” Ben said. “Out on location, you don’t have the boredom problem but you have concentration problem. I personally prefer this way of shooting to the studio way of shooting because it makes each day new and challenging and fun.”

Ben McKenzie suits up with his Southland co-stars Michael Cudlitz, Regina King, and Shawn Hatosy in this behind-the-scenes shot from TV Guide‘s latest issue.

“We spend an awful lot of time together,” Ben, 32, tells the magazine, adding that he’s glad “the guy who gets to act like an a–hole is actually really nice.”

The third season of the TNT drama premieres on Tuesday (January 4) at 10 p.m. and “will focus less on the characters at home and more on their time on the job,” according to TV Guide.

Ben‘s character also starts to finally gets concerned about Officer John Cooper’s (Cudlitz) addiction to painkillers.

“We’re still getting to know these people, and I think there’s going to be a lot of surprises,” said Michael.
