Betty White | Latest News, Photos, and Videos
After a busy 2010, 88-year-old Betty recently said that she’s going to take a break from acting.
Barbara Walters has named General David Petraeus her most fascinating person of the year!
“In life, it seems, there are people who break things and people who fix them. This man is a fixer,” Barbara said of General Petraeus on the show.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Barbara Walters’ list – YAY or NAY?
Here’s what the 88-year-old comedy star had to share:
On how she became involved: “We did the pilot, and three weeks later it got picked up for ten shows. I never saw a quicker turnaround in my life. They asked if I would do some more, and I explained that wasn’t our deal. They kept going, ‘What if you only had to work three days…’ what if this, what if that. They made so many concessions that I was embarrassed to keep saying no.”
Wendie Malick, on the cast’s combined background in comedy: “I think there’s 167 years of TV comedy between us. The fact that the four of us found ourselves in this wonderful surprise hit on this low-profile channel is a great reminder that women are still interesting, and maybe more so as they get older. I love to say there’s no expiration date on being fabulous – look at Betty!”

Here’s what the beloved 88-year-old actress had to share:
On whether or not she’s a cougar: , “I’ve always liked older men. They’re just more attractive to me. Of course, at my age there aren’t that many left! I’ve enjoyed the opposite sex a lot. Always have. Always will.”
On getting her sense of humor from her parents: “They had delicious senses of humor. They would come back from a walk with a dog, saying, ‘Betty, he followed us home. Can we keep him?’ My parents had a cat named Toby who liked to sit on my crib. My mom always said that if Toby hadn’t approved of the baby, she’d have gone straight back to the hospital.”
On gay marriage: “I don’t care who anybody sleeps with. If a couple has been together all that time – and there are gay relationships that are more solid than some heterosexual ones – I think it’s fine if they want to get married. I don’t know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don’t worry about other people so much.”
