Beyonce Releases Statement on Dallas Police Shootings

Beyonce has released a statement to pay her respects to the police officers killed in Dallas during a Black Lives Matter rally.

Five officers were shot by two snipers during a peaceful protest that was conducted after the killings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling.

“Rest in peace to the officers whose lives were senselessly taken yesterday in Dallas. I am praying for a full recovery of the seven others injured,” Beyonce wrote on Instagram. “No violence will create peace. Every human life is valuable. We must be the solution. Every human being has the right to gather in peaceful protest without suffering more unnecessary violence. To effect change we must show love in the face of hate and peace in the face of violence.”

Beyonce Writes Call to Action Following Police Shootings

Beyonce has written an open letter on her website urging her fans to take action against the shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police officers.

“We are sick and tired of the killings of young men and women in our communities. It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they ‘stop killing us.’ We don’t need sympathy. We need everyone to respect our lives,” Bey wrote in her call to action.

“This is not a plea to all police officers but toward any human being who fails to value life. The war on people of color and all minorities needs to be over,” she added.

Celebrities are outraged over the two shootings that have happened in the past two days, both of which were captured on video and spread online.
