Bill Cosby's Daughter Defends Him, Calls Rape Allegations 'Harsh & Hurtful'

Bill Cosby has been accused by over fifty women of rape, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and more over the course of his career. Now, his daughter Evin is coming to his defense in a letter written to the public.

“My dad tried to defend himself. His lawyers tried to defend him, but they all got sued. People were constantly reaching out to me about why doesn’t your dad say something. I kept saying he’s trying, but the media is only interested in the stories of the women. Friends of ours tried to help, but the media wouldn’t print what they said or knew. Our friends that spoke up were pressured to shut up. No one wanted to print their supportive words. We live in a scandalous country where the more sexualized and provocative the story, the more attention it gets,” Evin wrote in her THR letter.

“The harsh and hurtful accusations of things that supposedly happened 40 or 50 years ago, before I was born, in another lifetime, and that have been carelessly repeated as truth without allowing my dad to defend himself and without requiring proof, has punished not just my dad but every one of us. They have punished the talented people who were still earning money and feeding their families from my dad’s shows and work. I am pleased that finally we are seeing the whole picture and seeing cases and claims dismissed from court. I just hope that those who pre-judged my dad are now willing to admit that they were wrong,” she continued.

R. Kelly on Bill Cosby's Sexual Assault Case: 'It's Just Strange'

R. Kelly is speaking out about Bill Cosby‘s sexual assault charges.

The 49-year-old singer told told GQ, “Well, my opinion on that is, I don’t know what happened. I’m a fan of Bill Cosby‘s from [The Cosby Show], of course – who’s not? – and for me to give my opinion on something that I have no idea if it’s true or not, all I can say is that it was a long time ago. And when I look on TV and I see the 70-, 80-, 90-year-old ladies talking about what happened when they were 17, 18, or 19, there’s something strange about it. That’s my opinion. It’s just strange.”

He added, “It’s strange. Strange is strange. I can’t explain strange. That’s why strange is strange. Because it’s something we can’t explain.”

As for R. Kelly‘s own past sexual misconduct charges (which were dropped), he said, “When a person is found not guilty, they’re found not guilty. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a murder case, it doesn’t matter what case it is, when they’re found not guilty, they’re not guilty. And I think that a lot of haters out there wanted to see me go down.”
