Billy Bush and his wife Sydney have separated after almost 20 years of marriage.

A rep for the couple told TMZ they have “separated for the moment to evaluate their life together. They love each other and their children deeply and are committed to a bright future.”

Of course, Billy was at the center of a huge controversy last year when leaked audio emerged of him having a lewd conversation with Donald Trump. Billy had to leave his job at the Today show after the conversation was leaked.

The couple have three children together: Josie, Lillie, and Mary.

Billy Bush takes the cover of THR‘s latest issue to explain his side of the story with regards to that infamous lewd leaked audio with Donald Trump.

Here’s what the 45-year-old former TV personality had to share:

On the actual conversation: “Looking back on what was said on that bus, I wish I had changed the topic…[Trump] liked TV and competition. I could’ve said, ‘Can you believe the ratings on whatever?’ I didn’t have the strength of character to do it.”

On what happened when the tape leaked: “I put together an apology right away… I told people that I was ashamed and embarrassed. And I was. So in the beginning, I thought, ‘OK, we’ll go and own up to this moment. Then I got home, and it started to become apparent that [I] would not be returning [to "Today"]. It hurt a lot, and I fell apart.”

On his comeback to TV: “There’s a process that needs to take place because you just can’t come back; it has to have changed you in some way. But I plan to return to the job that I love, which is television, communicating, interviewing people.”

Billy Bush‘s exit from NBC and the Today show was acknowledged briefly on the morning program on Tuesday (October 18).

“NBC News announced last night that Billy Bush would be leaving the Today show effective immediately, noting that he was a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family,” Matt Lauer said on the air. “A statement Billy released separately last night read in part, ‘I look forward to what lies ahead.’ And, of course, all of us here at Today wish Billy the very best.”

It was just announced last night that Billy and NBC had parted ways after leaked audio with offensive language from him and Donald Trump was revealed.

Billy Bush has officially taken his exit from the Today show due to his involvement with Donald Trump‘s leaked lewd tape, as NBC announced earlier today.

The 45-year-old host has reportedly reached a settlement with the network for an undisclosed amount.

“Billy Bush will be leaving the Today show’s 9 a.m. hour, effective today,” Noah Oppenheim, the executive in charge of the show, wrote in a staff memo on Monday (October 17).

“While he was a new member of the Today team, he was a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family,” Noah added. “We wish him success as he goes forward.”

Billy has also released his own statement: “I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues. I look forward to what lies ahead.”

Billy Bush has officially reached an exit settlement with NBC following his involvement in Donald Trump‘s leaked lewd tape, according to TMZ.

The 45-year-old television personality will end his employment with the network, terminate his contract with the Today show and receive a confidential financial payout.

Although the exact settlement is not known, sources say that Billy is happy with the final numbers but believes his punishment is unfair.

The sources added that Billy had openly talked about the tape in front of his bosses but had never been disciplined and felt he was cut loose purely for PR reasons.

Melania also said, “I said to my husband that, you know, the language was inappropriate. It’s not acceptable. And I was surprised, because that is not the man that I know. And as you can see from the tape, the cameras were not on — it was only a mic. And I wonder if they even knew that the mic was on.”
