'The Wiz' Will Be NBC's Next Musical, Broadway Run Set Too!

The Wiz will officially be NBC’s next big musical project and the production will head to Broadway after its big debut on television!

The update of the classic show will air on Thursday, December 3 and it will be co-produced in a partnership with Cirque du Soleil. It will then go to Broadway for the 2016-17 season.

“We love this yearly tradition and we’re more excited than ever to not only bring another Broadway musical to America’s living rooms, but also see it land on Broadway as well,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said in a statement. He called the future Broadway production “a natural next step for our live musical events.”

This is the third show NBC has produced in recent years, following The Sound of Music and Peter Pan. Fox is also getting into the game with a production of Grease this year.

Matthew Morrison is taking on the role of J.M. Barrie in the new Broadway musical Finding Neverland and the first footage has been revealed!

The 36-year-old Glee actor is playing the role originated by Johnny Depp in the beloved movie and he is starring alongside Kelsey Grammer and Laura Michelle Kelly in the musical version.

“I think for the fans of Peter Pan you get to see Tinkerbell, you get to see Peter Pan, and for the fans of the movie, there’s that amazing love story, that’s in it as well,” Matthew told Good Morning America.

This Off-Broadway Show Has Celebrities Everywhere Raving!

Want to see the show that every celeb seems to be rushing to these days? Well, we have good news and bad news.

Hamilton, the new musical from Tony-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda is currently playing an Off-Broadway run that is completely sold out, but it will be heading to Broadway this July and tickets are already on sale!

The musical, an inventive look at the life of Alexander Hamilton, currently stars Lin-Manuel (In the Heights) and Jonathan Groff, though no word yet on who will transfer to Broadway.

Stars such as Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ruth Wilson, Tobey Maguire, Anna Wintour, Rose Byrne, Glenn Close, America Ferrera, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Josh Groban, Matthew Morrison, and SO many more have checked out the show. And that’s just within the last month!

The Tony-winning actress was joined by her co-star Peter Gallagher to celebrate their big night.

Bruce Willis Set For Broadway Debut in Stephen King's 'Misery'

Bruce Willis is set to make his Broadway debut in the stage version of the 1987 Stephen King novel Misery, EW reports!

The 59-year-old actor will play a successful novelist who is rescued from a car accident during a blizzard by his biggest fan, to be played by House of CardsElizabeth Marvel. His biggest fan ends up keeping him captive after she finds out the writer has killed off her favorite character Misery Chastain.

The 1990 film adaptation of the novel starred Kathy Bates and James Caan.
