ABC is debuting the primetime version of the game show The Chase tonight (January 7) and what you might not know is that this show has been around for years!

The Chase, which is an adaptation of a British quiz show, premiered on Game Show Network back in 2013.

The original American version of the show was hosted by Brooke Burns and featured Mark Labbett, who was nicknamed The Beast, as the show’s “chaser.” The show has been nominated at the Daytime Emmy Awards three times.

The Chase is a heart-racing quiz show where three competitors must pit their wits and face off against the Chaser, a ruthless quiz genius determined to stop them from winning cash prizes. Each hour-long episode is a fast-paced battle of brain power, where contestants are challenged to think faster than they ever thought possible to answer up to 166 questions across all topics.

In the ABC primetime version of The Chase, Jeopardy‘s James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings, and Brad Rutter take turns serving as the Chaser while The View‘s Sara Haines is the host.

The former Hart of Dixie actress was joined by Nicole Scherzinger, Olivia Culpo, Paula Abdul, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Christina Milian, Mario Lopez, Kimberley Locke, Terrell Owens and Brooke Burns at the event celebrating the commencement of daily, non-stop service between Los Angeles International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Mariah Carey was also in attendance to serve as the special musical guest.

The ladies were there as part of “Team Nanci,” formed in support of Hollywood publicist Nanci Ryder, who was diagnosed with ALS this summer.

Also joining the team to show support that day were Katharine McPhee, Emmy Rossum, Rose McGowan, and Brooke Burns.

“Nanci is like my second mother. We talk every single morning on the phone. Her humor is very dry, and everybody has an impression of Nanci Ryder – my husband, me, my kids. She has an incredible attitude, a real joy for life,” Reese told THR for the recent story revealing her diagnosis.

Brooke, who was engaged to Bruce Willis, has a daughter, Madison, 9, with her ex-husband, Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon.

“John‘s met Madison,” notes the insider.
