Brooke Simpson was one of our favorites on The Voice when she competed as a member of Miley Cyrus‘ team back in 2017 and now she’s wowing Broadway fans with her incredible vocals!

The 31-year-old singer and actress made her Broadway debut in the musical 1776 last year and now she’s stealing the show as part of the Los Angeles production.

Brooke played a minor role in the Broadway cast and understudied the role of the Courier, who sings the show-stopping number “Momma Look Sharp.” For the L.A. production, she is playing the Courier full-time and she had the biggest applause of the night following her song at the opening night performance on Wednesday (April 12).

In this new production of the Tony-winning musical, a multiracial cast of female, transgender, and nonbinary actors portrays the “fiery founders of this country, putting history in the hands of the humans who were left out the first time around—and the result is an epic show of passion, debate, and roof-raising musical fireworks.”

1776 is playing at Center Theatre Group’s Ahmanson Theatre through May 7.

Brooke Simpson blew everyone away with her three performances on night one of The Voice finale on Monday (December 18) in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old singer is on Miley Cyrus‘ team and she helped Team Miley be represented in the finals of the series for the very first time.

Brooke performed three songs during the evening – her original song “What Is Beautiful,” a duet of “Wrecking Ball” with Miley, and finally the holiday classic “Oh Holy Night.”
