Bushwick Bill Dead - Geto Boys Member Dies From Pancreatic Cancer

Bushwick Bill has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.

The rapper – whose real name is Richard Shaw – has passed away on Sunday (June 9), his family confirmed to TMZ. He was 52-years-old.

The Jamaican-American rapper and Geto Boys member was surrounded by his family when he passed away in a Houston hospital. According to his son Javon, Bill‘s final words were, “I will love you forever.”

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Bill‘s health was declining and fans started sending well wishes to the him.

Bill‘s family are planning for a public memorial remembering the late rapper.

Bushwick Bill Not Dead, Despite Early Reports

Bushwick Bill, born Richard Stephen Shaw, is the subject of false death reports.

He is “still alive and fighting cancer,” his publicist told TMZ on Sunday (June 8).

The Jamaican-American rapper and Geto Boys member was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer last month.

According to Instagram posts by band member Scarface earlier in the day, he passed away: “RIP Bushwick Bill….,” he wrote in one post.

“You will be missed big fella,” he wrote in another post paying tribute.

Bill has been a member of the Texas rap group for a majority of its run since 1986.

He was also featured on Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic and featured in the “Dre Day” video. He also released several solo records, including Little Big Man, Phantom of the Rapra and No Surrender…No Retreat.
