Caitlyn was seen wearing a collared short sleeve shirt and skirt as she made her way out for the day.

She recently penned an essay for Women’s Health‘s 2020 Pride Month coverage about her transition.

“By the time I was 9 years old, I was struggling with my gender identity. I would sneak into my mother and sister’s closets when nobody was around to try on their clothes, or go play with their makeup. I had no idea why I was doing it; it just felt right. I also struggled with dyslexia, which was kind of a double-whammy. I was scared to go to school and be asked to read in front of the class; I would sit there with sweaty palms,” she wrote.

Here’s what she said about her gender dysphoria…

Caitlyn Jenner Says She Sees Her Gender Dysphoria As Her 'Gift'

Caitlyn Jenner is opening up about transitioning.

The 70-year-old former Olympian penned an essay for Women’s Health‘s 2020 Pride Month coverage, out now.

“Looking back, I think that sports meant more to me than the next person. I needed sports more to prove to myself that I could be good at something, and I worked a little harder than I think I would have if I hadn’t been struggling.”

She went on to discuss her experience at the Olympics.

“During my Olympic training, I was so far away from Caitlyn. I honestly just ignored my gender issues the best I could. But it was always present. When you suffer from gender dysphoria, it’s not something you can take two aspirin for, get plenty of sleep, wake up the next morning, and everything’s fine. You’re just kind of stuck with it. I didn’t understand it, and I didn’t know what was going on with me. But it was also my dyslexia and gender issues that made me an Olympic champion. I channeled my struggles to drive and push me. Now, I see those issues as my gift,” she went on to say.

“When I was young, I felt I couldn’t do anything about my gender dysphoria. Back then, I could never have envisioned a future for myself as happy as I am now. I have no regrets about my life…no matter your situation, there’s no right or wrong way to come out. But now, I wake up in the morning, and I look in the mirror, and everything finally feels like it’s in the right place. I’m not struggling anymore. I’m happy.”

Caitlyn also recently said this about transitioning in the public eye five years ago.

Caitlyn looked sporty as she made her way out from the coffee run amid the pandemic.

She recently looked back at her transition, five years later.

“I thought, what a great opportunity to change the world’s thinking…I think I had been wearing rose-colored glasses. I thought I could change the world. Now I know I can only try and change one person at a time,” she said of the experience of publicly coming out. Find out what else she said…

Caitlyn Jenner Looks Back On Her Transition 5 Years Later

Caitlyn Jenner wears a Love over Hate sweater while picking up a few items from the store in Los Angeles on Friday evening (June 12).

The 70-year-old reality star was seen running a few other errands while out and about in the city, although she wasn’t pictured with a mask.

Just recently, Caitlyn marked the five year anniversary of her transition.

“I thought, what a great opportunity to change the world’s thinking,” she shared with People about how she was going to make her mark as Caitlyn. “51 percent of trans people attempt suicide. The murder rate — we’ve been losing one trans woman of color every two weeks.”

However, some weren’t ready to change, given her controversial political views.

“They said I’m ‘too controversial.’ And that hurt,” Caitlyn added. “I think I had been wearing rose-colored glasses. I thought I could change the world. Now I know I can only try and change one person at a time.”

But still, after everything, Caitlyn says she has no regrets about her transition.

“This is my journey. Yes, it is different than other trans people. I get it. But the bottom line is this: When I wake up in the morning, I’m happy with myself.”

Kendall & Kylie Jenner Reflect on Caitlyn Jenner's Transition 5 Years Later: 'She's Our Hero'

Kendall and Kylie Jenner are speaking out about their parent Caitlyn Jenner‘s transition five years later.

“When my dad came out as transgender, our relationship grew,” Kendall, 24, told People. “She could finally be honest with me. We could talk about deep emotions she was feeling through that time. Growing up my dad was not usually one to talk about her feelings so that was a big step for us.”

Kendall added, “I used to watch old Olympic videos of my dad and wish I could be a part of those spectacular moments with her. There are so many stories she tells about her life and I love to just sit there and listen. She has lived so many amazing lives in one lifetime. My favorite thing to learn from my dad is about my dad. Inspiring then and inspiring now.”

“Because of my dad’s bravery, I’ve learned to love what I love and not be ashamed of it,” she adds. “She’s been my role model since before I can even remember, from sports growing up to now with her wisdom. She’s so brave and I aspire to be as brave as her one day,” she said.

Kylie herself added, “My dad has always been an inspiration to me, from winning the gold medal at the Olympics to getting her pilot’s license. However, watching her live out her true self has been the most inspiring of them all.”

And they both agree, “She’s our hero.”
