Pride Month is more than halfway over, but we’re still celebrating all sorts of LGBTQ+ art! That means that we’ve been playing music from some of our favorite queer hitmakers on repeat.

It seems like the ideal time to recommend a queer artist to a friend or fellow reader by letting them know which one you consider to be the best.

Nowadays, we live in an era where so many musicians are open about their sexuality. Think of Hayley Kiyoko (known to many as Lesbian Jesus) and Lil Nas X (who continues to push boundaries every time he releases a new project).

They’re slaying the game, in part thanks to the groundbreaking work of others who came before them. Take Elton John and Melissa Etheridge, for example.

That’s still barely scratching the surface of the incredible pool of talented queer musicians who have graced us with solid-gold hits over the years. The list isn’t complete without the likes of Adam Lambert, Fletcher, Troye Sivan, Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Kim Petras, Sam Smith and so many others.

There’s so many artists, and we put together a poll so you could tell us who you consider to be the ultimate LGBTQ+ musician!

Calum Scott Drops New Album 'Bridges' Ahead of Headlining Tour Next Month - Listen Now!

Calum Scott has released his sophomore album Bridges!

The 33-year-old British singer worked with producers like Greg Kurstin for his new album, which features singles “Heaven” and “Biblical.”

Calum said in a statement, “From touring all over the world and seeing how people have been affected by my music, I realized how important it is for me to keep writing from a very honest place. I’ve learned that I can take the painful things I’ve been through, then create something beautiful that helps people to process their feelings, to take action, to become more compassionate and understanding of others, or just to escape from the world for a while. For me this new album is about sharing things I’ve never shared before and taking leaps that sometimes feel terrifying, with the hope that it will bring some inspiration or reassurance to anyone who needs it.”

To celebrate the launch of his album, Calum will be heading on the road this summer for a 25-date North American tour, which kicks off on July 30 in Seattle. Additional dates were added to the initial lineup after some immediate sell-outs!

Calum Scott Announces Sophomore Album, Drops New Song 'Heaven,' & Reveals Tour Dates!

Calum Scott has a lot of big news to share!

The 33-year-old British singer-songwriter, who shot to fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, has announced that his sophomore album Bridges will be released on June 17. Pre-order it now on iTunes.

Calum has also released his new single “Heaven,” which is the fourth song to be released from the album following “Biblical,” “If You Ever Change Your Mind,” and “Rise.”

Calum said of the new song, “As songwriters, we’re always searching for new ways of saying ‘I miss you’ or ‘I love you’ or ‘I want you back.’ The concept of ‘Heaven’ is the love between two people being so powerful that it is far superior to anything else, any other form of paradise that could be offered. I loved the idea of putting the power into the relationship.”

After wrapping a run as support for The Script, Calum has announced that he’s going on a headlining tour of North America this summer.

The song will be featured on the 33-year-old singer’s upcoming sophomore album, which is due out this spring.

“Five years ago, I fell in love so hard that ever since we parted ways, there has been an invisible tether between us, sometimes existing silently, other times pulling on me like a rope attached to my chest,” Calum said in a statement. “I got together with Mozella and Hayley Warner in LA to write this one and had the pleasure of working with the legend, Greg Kurstin on track and vocals. I really enjoyed stepping into a new sound with Greg on this song – I feel we struck the balance of lyrics that tell the story of heartbreak and conflict but maintain a hopeful and reminiscent sound that makes this song feel so good!”
