'Captain Marvel' Is Adding Lashana Lynch to the Cast!

Lashana Lynch is set to replace DeWanda Wise in Captain Marvel!

The 30-year-old Still Star-Crossed actress is in final negotiations for the role, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed on Friday (March 16).

DeWanda was forced to drop out of the production due to scheduling conflicts with shooting the second season of Spike Lee and Netflix’s She’s Gotta Have It.

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the studio’s first female-fronted superhero standalone film, which stars Brie Larson.

Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will also star in the film, which is set in the 1990s.

The movie will be released on March 8, 2019.

Brie Larson is in superhero mode!

The 28-year-old Academy Award-winning actress was spotted in costume for the first time as Captain Marvel on Wednesday afternoon (January 24) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Brie plays Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who gains superpowers after her DNA is fused with an alien’s DNA following an accident. The movie is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and is the first Marvel solo movie to focus on a female character.

The movie is due to hit theaters on March 8, 2019.

Brie Larson's Captain Marvel Concept Art Revealed at Comic-Con, Samuel L. Jackson Confirmed for Young Nick Fury!

One of the cool moments from the Marvel panel at Comic-Con this year was getting to see the first concept art for Brie Larson as Captain Marvel!

The 27-year-old Oscar-winning actress is set to play the title superhero in the upcoming movie and details about the film were revealed.

Samuel L. Jackson, who Brie worked with on Kong: Skull Island, is confirmed to reprise his role as a younger Nick Fury in the film.

Captain Marvel will be set in the 1990s, so it will take place before all of the action in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Nick Fury will not have lost his eye yet.

Captain Marvel Gives Brie Larson a Shout-Out in New Comic!

Brie Larson is set to play the role of Captain Marvel in an upcoming stand-alone Marvel film, but first the actress is getting a shout-out by the comic book character!

The 26-year-old Oscar-winning actress has shared an image from the upcoming Spider-Man/Deadpool comic which features a funny moment from Captain Marvel.

The superhero asks for someone to bring her the movie Room, but she was given the wrong film.

“No. I wanted Room with Brie Larson. Not The Room — Side Note. You know this guy is an alien, right? He’s a wanted criminal. The Guardians have been looking for him for years,” Captain Marvel says while holding a copy of Tommy Wiseau‘s movie.

“I feel you girl. #captainmarvel (edit: this is from Spider-Man/Deadpool #12 – out next week),” Brie captioned the image on her Instagram account.

Marvel Announces First Female Superhero Solo Film for Captain Marvel!

Marvel had a huge event today to announce phase three of their movie plans and for the first time in the history of the studio, announced plans for a solo female film with Captain Marvel!

The studio announced that Captain Marvel will debut on July 6, 2018, but made no mention of who would be playing the role.

On the Marvel website, it lists Ms. Marvel’s current powers to include flight, enhanced strength, durability and the ability to shoot concussive energy bursts from her hands. She’s also a skilled pilot and adept at hand to hand combatant.
