Coroner Rules Caroline Flack Died by Suicide Because She Feared Public Trial

A coroner has ruled regarding the cause of Caroline Flack‘s suicide.

The late Love Island host, who killed herself in February, died out of fear of being prosecuted for assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton, it was ruled on Thursday (August 6) in court in London, England.

“Although (Flack‘s) general fluctuating (mental) state was a background and important in her death, I find the reason for her taking her life was she now knew she was being prosecuted for certainty, and she knew she would face the media, press, publicity — it would all come down upon her. To me, that’s it in essence,” coroner Mary Hassell declared at Poplar Coroner’s Court, via Sky News.

She was charged with assaulting her boyfriend in December of 2019, and took her life at her apartment two months later at the age of 40.

More details also surfaced regarding the final days before her tragic death during the court session.

Caroline Flack's Family Describes Her Final Days Before Her Tragic Death

Tragic details about the days leading up to Love Island host Caroline Flack‘s death have been revealed.

Caroline‘s mother Chris and twin sister Jodi addressed the coroner’s court regarding the inquest into her death. Caroline died by suicide in February of 2020.

Months before her suicide, Caroline was accused of assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton. The decision to take the case to trial was called a “show trial” by Chris and added she was “hounded by the press” leading up to her tragic death.

“I believe Caroline was seriously let down by the authorities and in particular the CPS (Crown Prosecution Services) for pursuing the case,” Chris said (via The Guardian). “There was disputed evidence in court… Being well known should not allow special treatment, but should not allow making an example of someone.”

Jodi said Caroline was “devastated” over the assault charges and felt she could not “tell her side of the story.”

Meanwhile, if you missed this story, one celebrity has been firing back at claims that she is responsible for Caroline‘s death.

“Her life and reputation she worked hard to build was falling apart … because of a false accusation,” Jodi said. “It was our belief it would not be happening to her if she wasn’t in the public eye… At worst, her career and reputation, so precious to her, had been taken away.”

Jodi added, “Caroline spent the last few months of her life hiding inside, scared of the abuse… Caroline seemed very sad the day before her death—she seemed to have lost her fight.”

Jameela Jamil Slams Repeated Claims She Was Responsible for Caroline Flack's Death Months After DMs Surface

Jameela Jamil is addressing the months of hate she has received after Love Island host Caroline Flack died by suicide back in February 2020.

A lot of the hate Jameela has received was due to Piers Morgan releasing private DMs between himself and Caroline that referenced Jameela. You can read that DM right here.

On Tuesday (June 30), Jameela posted a hateful message she received from a troll referencing Caroline and she posted it, responding, “I get messages like this every day because @piersmorgan implied that I was responsible for Caroline’s death just because she and I had a Mild disagreement about her TV shows, where I wasn’t actually criticizing her, 8 months before she passed. The media killed her, not me.”

Jameela further explained, “She reached out to me a few days before she died because she was sad to see how much hate I was getting from the media, (which massively was coming from Morgan at the time) and then she passed a few days later. He then used a dead woman’s message out of context to harass me.”

“I simply said I found the show ‘surjury’ (not her) problematic for kids to watch. And that love island needed some more diversity. Both times Caroline instigated debate with ME even though I was not targeting or blaming her at all. I always just politely explained my point,” she wrote in her defense.

Piers Using a dead woman who I was friends with, as a weapon to try to create further harassment for me as I’ve JUST explained publicly that last week I felt suicidal… is why he is this industry’s most problematic . My criticizing a *show* did not aim any hate at Caroline,” she added.

This is far from the first time the two have sparred in the media. Find out why Jameela Jamil and Piers Morgan battled it out on social media a week before…
