Transparent revolves around a Los Angeles family and their lives following the discovery that their father Mort (Jeffrey Tambor) is transgender.

Fred Armisen keeps his look classic in a black suit at the 2014 Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday (August 25) in Los Angeles.

Tonight, Fred is nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Portlandia while the show itself is nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

Carrie recently talked with RollingStone about the story development in the third season of Portlandia.

“We spend a lot more time writing and we spend a lot more time [on] endings and making sure there’s a story,” Carrie shared. “We work on having arcs in place and stories within which we can improvise. It’s becoming less like a sketch show to me… and more about these lives of these people who live in Portland.”
