Cate Blanchett is looking as gorgeous as ever on the red carpet at the 2023 EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday (February 19) at Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

The 53-year-old actress is nominated in the Leading Actress category this year for her work on the critically acclaimed film Tár. Be sure to see the full list of nominees for the BAFTAs.

You may be wondering why some attendees are wearing blue ribbons on their looks. It’s part of the #WithRefugees initiative to show support for those displaced, including the refugees from Ukraine forced to flee during Russia’s ongoing war against the country. The UNHCR adds, “The #WithRefugees Coalition is a powerful force for good inspiring work in solidarity with people forced to flee all over the world.”

In addition, if you’re thinking this dress looks a little familiar…it’s because Cate has worn it in the past! She previously donned the look at the Academy Awards back in 2015. She won the Best Actress award for Blue Jasmine back in 2014, and presented the Best Actor award on stage in 2015.

The 2023 BAFTAs show has begun and we are recapping all of the looks from the red carpet!

The stars are out in full force for the EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday (February 19) at The Royal Festival Hall in London, England.

The BAFTAs are considered to be the British Oscars and most of the stars nominated at this year’s Oscars are also up for awards tonight.

The Netflix movie All Quiet on the Western Front is leading the nominations this year with 14 noms while The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All at Once are both up for 10 awards.

Every year, the stars nominated for awards at the Oscars gather for a celebratory luncheon ahead of the show and 2023′s event just took place!

Tom Cruise, Austin Butler, Cate Blanchett, and Michelle Yeoh were just some of the nominated celebs in attendance at the 2023 Oscars Nominees Luncheon on Monday afternoon (February 13) at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Out of the acting nominees, 17 out of 20 nominated stars showed up for the event with Blonde‘s Ana de Armas, To Leslie‘s Andrea Riseborough, and The Banshees of Inisherin‘s Barry Keoghan not in attendance.

Cate Blanchett and Paul Mescal posed for photos before grabbing a bite to eat on Saturday morning (February 11).

The actors were just two of the stars on hand for the 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards Nominee Brunch at the Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Others in attendance included Joel Kim Booster, Trammell Tillman, Theo Rossi and Jonathan Tucker.

Going into the ceremony, Cate is up for Best Lead Performance for her work as Lydia Tar in TAR. Paul is also competing in the category for his work on Aftersun.

Cate is already having a strong showing during awards season. She picked up Best Actress at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards in January. Afterwards, a fellow actor had to clear the air after fans thought that they dissed her.

While picking up her award at the ceremony, Cate made a surprising request during her acceptance speech.

Florence Pugh is embracing the peplum trend in a stunning red ensemble at the 2023 London Critics’ Circle Film Awards held at The Mayfair Hotel on Sunday (February 5) in London, England.

The 27-year-old Don’t Worry Darling actress added a fun veiled hat to her look, as she walked the red carpet alongside her actor brother, Toby Sebastian, at the ceremony.

Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Paul Mescal, and Bill Nighy – who are also nominated for Oscars this year – were also at the event.

According to THR, Cate‘s film, Tár, was named film of the year, while Michelle was honored with the Dilys Powell award for excellence in film.

Florence and Bill were also named British/Irish actress and actor of 2022.

Paul‘s co-star Frankie Corio was recognized as Young British/Irish performer.

FYI: Florence wore a Robert Wun look with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Cate and Michelle both wore Alexander McQueen.

Guy Pearce caused a stir on Twitter after he appeared to diss Cate Blanchett over her win at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

If you missed it, the 53-year-old TAR actress beat out the competition to take home the win for Best Actress on January 15. The 55-year-old Memory actor deemed her win a “fascinating choice” in a since-deleted tweet.

He also advocated for Ana de Armas to emerge victorious in the Best Actress category, which Cate is also nominated in, at the 2023 Celebrity Film Awards.

Cate Blanchett made a bold statement after winning the award for Best Actress at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

The 53-year-old actress called for the end of televised awards shows while accepting the awards on Sunday (January 15) at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

Cate, who won for TAR, started off her speech with a funny anecdote, saying, “This is actually the second award of the evening: Julia Roberts, earlier, presented me with a bottle of mouthwash. So thank you, Julia. This is a poor second.”

She continued by saying the award was “arbitrary, considering how many extraordinary performances” were given by women in the past year. She noted some of the performances that were not nominated, including To Leslie‘s Andrea Riseborough.

Cate then suggested some major changes for awards season.
