The producers who formed the songwriting duo The Neptunes are in a legal dispute over the group’s name, after Chad accused Pharrell of “fraudulently” seeking sole control over the trademarks, via Billboard.

Rihanna is currently recording new music, this is not a drill.
The 31-year-old “Diamonds” singer gave fans a highly anticipated possible R9 update in her Instagram Stories on Thursday (February 13).
She posted a photo of a soundboard (see it in our gallery), confirming that not only is she back in the studio, but she’s also working on a new music collaboration with The Neptunes, aka Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo‘s hip-hop duo.
“Gang. back in da STU,” she captioned the snap.
Rihanna and Pharrell last teamed up for his group N.E.R.D.‘s track “Lemon” in 2017.
Rihanna previously teased that she and Pharrell Williams would be working together on Valentine’s Day.

The 37-year-old “No One” singer, the 26-year-old “Attention” crooner, and the 22-year-old Fifth Harmony member hit the yellow carpet at the event, hosted by American Express and Pharrell Williams, on Monday (September 10) at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City.
They were joined by Alicia‘s husband Swizz Beatz, Pharrell‘s wife Helen Lasichanh, Missy Elliott, A$AP Ferg, Shay Haley, Chad Hugo, June Ambrose, Billie Eilish, Halston Sage, Coco Rocha, and David Blaine.
The event was held in support of arts education nationwide.
That same day, Pharrell visited the Empire State Building in honor of the ball.

To celebrate the release of N.E.R.D‘s comeback album No_One Every Really Dies, Pharrell Williams made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the LP on Thursday night (December 14)!
“It’s one of those things where it just hits you when it hits you,” the 44-year-old entertainer told Jimmy said of their seven-year hiatus. “I can’t just make things for myself. I’m so much better at working with other people and producing and writing songs for other people because they inspire me. I don’t inspire myself.”
Pharrell was later joined by his N.E.R.D bandmates Chad Hugo and Shay Haley to hit the outdoor stage for a performance of “Lemon” and the Future-assisted “1000.”

N.E.R.D is back with new album!
The guys – Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley – just dropped new album No_One Ever Really Dies!
This is the group’s first album since they released Nothing back in 2010.
Back in November, N.E.R.D released their first single off of the album “Lemon” featuring Rihanna.
N.E.R.D‘s new album features tons of other collaborations including songs with Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, and Gucci Mane.

N.E.R.D has announced an official release date for their comeback album, No One Ever Really Dies!
The 11-track project from the trio – Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley – is set to be released everywhere on December 15, with appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Future, Gucci Mane, Wale, M.I.A., André 3000, Ed Sheeran, and Rihanna, who is featured on the official lead single “Lemon.”
To go along with the release date, N.E.R.D have also unveiled the album’s artwork. It features the title spelled out on a tongue, with aluminum foil on the teeth for grills – Check it out below!
