Chance the Rapper Apologizes for Working With R. Kelly

Chance the Rapper is apologizing for working with R. Kelly.

The 25-year-old Coloring Book rapper spoke out on Twitter following Saturday’s (January 5) episode of Survivor R. Kelly on Lifetime, which featured an audio clip of Chance saying working with him was “a mistake.”

“The quote was taken out of context, but the truth is any of us who ever ignored the R Kelly stories, or ever believed he was being setup/attacked by the system (as black men often are) were doing so at the detriment of black women and girls. I apologize to all of his survivors for working with him and for taking this long to speak out,” he wrote.

In Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly documentary series, people from R. Kelly‘s inner circle come forward with new allegations about his sexual, mental and physical abuse.

Chance the Rapper Reveals He Saved a Man from Fiery Car Crash

Chance the Rapper is a real-life hero!

During his Year in Review, the 25-year-old rapper took to Instagram Story to reveal that he pulled an unconscious man out of a burning vehicle as he was heading to church over the Easter holiday.

“I was the only person out there when it first happened,” Chance explained after saying he witnessed the car going over 90 mph and crash into into a wall. “His car was on fire so I had to break his window, take off his seatbelt, let his seat back and pull a whole grown man out [of] the car unconscious.”

Chance continued, “I was only by myself at first, then two older men helped me pull folks out the front after I got the doors open.”

After the incident, Chance said he didn’t know what happened to the man – and he asked his followers to do some research to help find him. And it worked!

“A kid DM’d me saying it was his uncle and that he lived!!” Chance tweeted.

Cardi B & Chance the Rapper are on the search for hip-hop’s new star!

The 26-year-old “Bodak Yellow” rapper and the 25-year-old “I Might Need Security” rapper have teamed up with Netflix to help undiscovered hip-hop artists pursue their dreams in the upcoming reality competition series Rhythm + Flow.

Cardi and Chance – along with T.I. – will serve as the three main judges will joining forces with other artists and music industry VIPs that will be announced at a later date.

Auditions will begin soon across the country. In each audition city, established rappers who hail from that city will serve as guest judges to help discover unsigned hip-hop artists.

Rhythm + Flow is will feature 10-episodes and is set to premiere in 2019.

Chance the Rapper goes incognito as a Lyft driver!

The 25-year-old “I Might Need Security” rapper surprised unsuspecting passengers during his drive around Chicago in a video posted on Monday (October 15).

He chats about love, life, other rappers, and how his charity, The New Chance Fund (along with the help of SocialWorks), is using the Round Up and Donate feature in the Lyft app to support Chicago Public Schools.

That same day, Chance tweeted a photo of a media advisory hinting that he might run for mayor.

Chance the Rapper to hold press conference regarding Chicago mayoral election,” the advisory reads. Chance captioned it, “City Hall pull up.” Hours before that, he tweeted, “Im thinkin maybe I should,” leading fans to speculate.

Chance the Rapper & Zazie Beetz Step Out for 'Slice' Premiere

Chance the Rapper hits the red carpet at the premiere of his new movie Slice on Monday night (September 10) at the ArcLight Cinemas in Chicago, Ill.

The 25-year-old rapper was joined at the event by his co-stars Zazie Beetz and Austin Veely as they premiered their upcoming horror-comedy.
