Chelsea Handler takes the cover of The Hollywood Reporter‘s latest issue.

Here’s what the 36-year-old talk show host and author had to share:

On being a self-proclaimed control freak: “I have final say in everything I’m a part of, whether it’s Chelsea Lately or my books and my stand-up. That [kind of power] doesn’t happen a lot. And I didn’t know it didn’t happen until it happened to me and I realized I was the only one.”

On her plans for the future: “The next step for me is not The Tonight Show. That’s a job for Jimmy Fallon. I’m way too divisive for a show like that. I want to do something that’s going to utilize my brain a little more than this show. If Lately is the show that I’m going to do, it’s going to change. But it may turn out that I’m done with it altogether. I can’t keep doing the same thing; my brain is bleeding. I want to do something that’s more mindful and isn’t celebrity-centered. I’m not looking to totally bail on E! They’ve done a lot for me, and I like it here. If you take away the Kardashians.”

Chelsea Handler and her hotelier beau, Andre Balazs, make a very cute couple as they celebrate Memorial Day with Hamptons magazine at Southampton Social Club on Sunday (May 29) in Southampton, New York.

The 36-year-old comedienne covers Hamptons‘ Memorial Day issue and recently shared that she likes putting her own spin on what people think is normal for television personalities.

“I like underdogs,” Chelsea told the mag. “I like people that don’t belong on television. There’s no way anybody would put Brad Wollack on television. I think it’s hilarious to put my brother on TV; there’s no way in the world that someone would put my brother on TV. I like putting people like Chuy on.”

“I like saying ‘Screw you’ to everybody that thinks there is one way to do television,” Chelsea concluded.

Chelsea Handler arrives at the 36th Annual Gracie Awards Gala on Tuesday (May 24) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 36-year-old talk show host was presented an award onstage by Giuliana Rancic at the event, which recognized women in TV and radio.

“Men, your time is over!” Chelsea, who attended with her hotelier beau Andre Balazs, joked.

Chelsea is headed to Las Vegas, where she’ll be performing at Caesars Palace this Saturday (May 28) for her Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me Tour.

Chelsea Handler hits the beach for the cover of Hamptons‘ Memorial Day Issue.

Here’s what the 36-year-old talk show host had to share with the mag:

On one of her most memorable Chelsea Lately guests: “I just had Gwyneth Paltrow on the show. She was hilarious talking about her grandmother calling her a name that I don’t think anybody has ever heard Gwyneth Paltrow use, which I thought was amazing because her timing couldn’t have been more hilarious.”

On her favorite celebs to interview: “Rappers are great because they just don’t really care and they are willing to say anything. And I love that because that’s kind of how I am. They all hit on me. I love Pharrell and thought he was really sweet; Nelly too.”

On who she doesn’t care for: “P. Diddy was the only one I was like, ‘Get away from me.’ He’s so late all the time. Maybe he won’t show up in the Hamptons until summer is over.”

Chelsea Handler hits the stage during her Lies That Chelsea Told Me tour at the Beacon Theatre on Saturday (May 21) in New York City.

The 36-year-old comedienne’s boyfriend, hotelier Andre Balazs, was seated tenth row center during the 10:30pm show that evening.

Chelsea signed copies of her new book “Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me” for fans at Barnes and Noble Fifth Avenue earlier in the day.

Chelsea is currently on tour with her Chelsea Lately co-panelists Heather McDonald, Josh Wolf, and Brad Wollack.
