10 Actors Auditioned for Captain America Before Chris Evans was Cast, Including a 'Twilight' Star & Future Marvel Castmates

Chris Evans was so well cast as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that it seemed like he was simply playing himself onscreen. He’s just that brilliant in the role.

However, there were so many other actors who also wanted a chance to suit up and carry Cap’s iconic shield in the MCU. They all put up a good fight for it!

The actor brought Steve Rogers to life on the big screen starting in 2011 with Captain America: The First Avenger. He seemingly bowed out almost a decade later with Avengers: Endgame.

But was that really the end for him? Chris addressed his future within the franchise during a new interview, revealing if he was really done with the role or if there was a possible return in his future.

Robert Downey Jr. spilled some tea on the tattoo he shares with the other founding members of the Avengers.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is massive now. However, at the start it centered around his Iron Man, Chris Evans‘ Captain America, Jeremy Renner‘s Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo‘s Hulk and Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor.

During a segment on Wired, Robert opened up about the tattoo, revealing some additional details. For instance, he confirmed which member of the cast opted out of getting inked and which was seemingly hesitant. He even revealed who was brave enough to go first.

Chris Evans is responding to the report a few weeks back suggesting Marvel is considering bringing back the original six Avengers amid the studios’ recent box office troubles.
