The 35-year-old Coldplay front man carried a copy of Leo Tolstoy‘s popular novel Anna Karenina, which was recently adapted into a film starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law.

The week before, Chris was spotted arriving at JFK airport with his wife Gwyneth Paltrow and their two adorable children Apple and Moses.

Gwyneth Paltrow pulls her luggage while touching down at JFK Airport on Sunday (December 23) in New York City.

The 40-year-old actress was accompanied by her husband Chris Martin and their children Apple and Moses.

Gwyneth recently wrote about perfection on her Goop website.

“Striving for achieving a sense of perfection has been a misguided belief in my life, often leading me down the wrong path. It has made me, at times, place value on the wrong things,” Gwyneth shared.

Gwyneth added, “It has made me not listen to my true self for fear that I would somehow fail in another’s eyes. I was curious as to how the idea of perfection has become so pervasive in our society, how it begins, how it hurts us and perhaps, even, if it carries a certain benefit.”

Chris Martin belts out some songs alongside Michael Stipe at the 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief held at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday (December 12) in New York City.

The 35-year-old Coldplay front man took the stage with R.E.M.’s Michael, where the two dueted “Losing My Religion.”

Chris also sang “Viva La Vida” and “Us Against the World.”

Also joining Chris at the concert were legends Paul McCartney, who played with Nirvana, and Billy Joel.

It was recently announced that Chris will perform at the 12-12-12 Sandy Concert, to help raise money for people who are still suffering after Hurricane Sandy.

Other performers include Bon Jovi, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who, and Paul McCartney.

It was recently announced that Coldplay and Jay-Z will perform together at a New Year’s Eve show at the end of the year.

“We’re pleased to announce that, on Monday, Dec. 31, Coldplay will round off a memorable year by performing a very special co-headline show with Jay-Z at Barclays Center, Brooklyn.” Coldplay shared. “This will be the second time in two years that Coldplay has celebrated new year with long-term friend and collaborator Jay-Z, the band having shared the bill with him at a Las Vegas concert in 2010. More recently, Jay-Z performed onstage with Coldplay at the spectacular London 2012 Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony.”
