The 33-year-old Scream actress got candid in an interview with THR about her controversial firing from the seventh film, which happened because of social media posts she made regarding Israel and Palestine.

Now, Melissa is speaking out about whether she’s spoken to original star Neve Campbell, who just joined for the seventh movie, keeping in touch with former Scream co-stars, whether she’d ever come back after the firing, and much more.

Meghann Fahy has landed an exciting new movie role!

The 33-year-old The White Lotus actress will be leading the cast of the upcoming Blumhouse thriller Drop.

Plot details for the movie are not yet known, but Deadline reports it’s going to be a “fast-paced thriller.”

Happy Death Day and Freaky director Christopher Landon is set to direct the movie, which will be produced by Jason Blum and Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Cameron Fuller. Sam Lerner will serve as executive producer.

Deadline reports that Cameron was the one to bring Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach‘s script into Platinum Dunes.

Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes previously sparked success with the Purge franchise, which included five movies, a TV series, and a sixth film on the way.

Scream 7 has officially lost director Christopher Landon.

The co-writer and director of We Have a Ghost took to social media on Saturday (December 23) to reveal that he had stepped back from the opportunity to direct the seventh installment in the iconic horror franchise.

The decision comes after it was revealed that franchise star Melissa Barrera had been fired by the movie’s studio after making pro-Palestine comments amid the ongoing conflict with Israel.

Spyglass Media Group, the studio behind the Scream movies, has just shared a statement regarding the firing of Melissa Barrera, one of the leads of the upcoming Scream 7.

If you recall, the 33-year-old actress was dropped from the slasher film series’ next installment following her pro-Palestine comments amid the ongoing conflict with Israel.

Scream VII is apparently very much in the works, but it’s likely going to look very different from the last two installments.

The filmmaking team known as Radio Silence (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett) directed Scream back in 2022, and returned for Scream VI in 2023. However, while the latest installment was a big hit, it sounds as though the team won’t be back for the seventh movie.

According to a new report, someone else may be taking over for Scream 7: Happy Death Day and Freaky director Christopher Landon.

The stars are stepping out for the premiere of We Have A Ghost!

Jennifer Coolidge, Anthony Mackie, Jahi Winston, and David Harbour posed together on the red carpet at the premiere of Netflix’s new comedy movie held on Wednesday evening (February 22) at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles.

Christopher Landon, the director of the horror movie Freaky, is slamming Hollywood studios for “day-and-date” releases amid the disappointing box office performance of Halloween Ends.

The new horror film grossed $43 million in its opening weekend, which is still a great number, but many experts predicted that it would gross at least $50 million for its first weekend. Last year’s Halloween Kills also opened to $49.4 million with the same day-and-date release strategy.

The two Halloween films were available for streaming on Peacock on the same day the movies were released in theaters.

Freaky came out in theaters in November 2020, when many theaters were still shut down due to the pandemic. The film was released on VOD less than a month after it hit theaters.
