Ryan Gosling & Claire Foy Debut 'First Man' Teaser at CinemaCon 2018

Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, and Damien Chazelle shared first-look footage of their upcoming movie First Man at 2018 CinemaCon!

The actors and director spoke on stage during the Universal Pictures portion of the event held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday (April 25) in Las Vegas.

Ryan looked sharp in a brown suit with a printed red button-up, and Claire sported a black and red dress featuring ruffles and matching heels.

Ryan and Damien also worked together on La La Land.

While discussing their Neil Armstrong biopic at the event, Ryan called the Apollo 11 mission the “most astonishing journey in history,” THR reports. Claire added that the film is also about the “unsung heroes who gave their support to this almost impossible voyage.”

The clip featured Ryan‘s Neil “with his family, training at NASA, and having a difficult conversation with his children during which he acknowledges that the mission carries risks, and that he may not come back. There are also images of Apollo 11 blasting off. The first look ends as Armstrong climbs down the steps of the space capsule as he prepares to take his first step onto the moon.”

Claire portrays Neil‘s first wife Janet. First Man hits theaters on October 12!

The Crown's Matt Smith Speaks Out About Claire Foy Pay Disparity Controversy

The Crown star Matt Smith is speaking out about the controversial pay disparity between himself and co-star Claire Foy, which producers apologized for in March.

The actor revealed his thoughts in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of Mapplethorpe at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday (April 22) in New York City.

Claire is one of my best friends, and I believe that we should be paid equally and fairly. I support her completely, and I am pleased that it was resolved and they made amends for that because that what’s needed to happen. Going forward, I think we should all bear in mind we need to strive to make this better, a more even playing field, for everyone involved — but not just in our industry, in all industries.”

It is still unclear at this time whether Netflix and producers provided additional compensation to Claire upon the revelation of the disparity.

Claire Foy Reacts to 'The Crown' Pay Gap Controversy

Claire Foy found herself at the center of a wage gap controversy where she was publicly outed as making less money as her co-star Matt Smith on Netflix’s The Crown, despite her having the starring role.

“I’m surprised because I’m at the center of it, and anything that I’m at the center of like that is very very odd, and feels very very out of ordinary,” Claire told Entertainment Weekly. “But I’m not [surprised about the interest in the story] in the sense that it was a female-led drama. I’m not surprised that people saw [the story] and went, ‘Oh, that’s a bit odd.’ But I know that Matt feels the same that I do, that it’s odd to find yourself at the center [of a story] that you didn’t particularly ask for.”

Producers have since apologized to Matt and Claire for being thrust into the spotlight over their salaries.
