Jon Hamm & Olivia Wilde Shoot 'Ballad of Richard Jewell' in Atlanta

Jon Hamm and Olivia Wilde are hard at work on their upcoming movie The Ballad of Richard Jewell!

The 48-year-old Black Mirror actor and the 35-year-old Booksmart actress were spotted on set on Wednesday (July 24) at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.

They were joined by director Clint Eastwood.

Olivia donned a plunging, printed blouse with a high-waisted beige skirt.

Jon was also seen sporting a more casual outfit – a white t-shirt with red shorts and a red baseball cap – while holding onto some to-go food earlier in the day.

In The Ballad of Richard Jewell, American security guard Richard Jewell (Paul Walter Hauser), heroically saves thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is unjustly vilified by journalists and the press who falsely report that he was a terrorist.

Olivia Wilde will play reporter Kathy Scruggs, who covered the event, and Jon will play an FBI agent investigating the bombing.

Olivia Wilde & Jon Hamm Team Up For Clint Eastwood's Film 'Richard Jewell'

Olivia Wilde and Jon Hamm have joined the cast of Clint Eastwood’s upcoming film Richard Jewell!

The duo are set to star in the film, which is based on a Vanity Fair article chronicling the life of Richard Jewell after he became a suspect for the pipe-bombing at Centennial Park during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Richard, a real-life security guard, had his life turned upside down after law enforcement leaked to an overzealous reporter that he was a possible suspect.

According to Variety, Olivia will play reporter Kathy Scruggs, who covered the event, and Jon will play an FBI agent investigating the bombing.

The cast already includes Paul Walter Hauser, Sam Rockwell and Kathy Bates.

Sam Rockwell Will Star in Clint Eastwood's 'Ballad of Richard Jewell'

Sam Rockwell is joining forces with Clint Eastwood in his upcoming film The Ballad of Richard Jewell!

The 50-year-old Fosse/Verdon actor is in final negotiations to star in the 89-year-old director and producer’s drama, Variety reports.

The Ballad of Richard Jewell is inspired by “the real-life security guard whose world was turned upside down after law enforcement leaked to an overzealous reporter at the Atlanta Journal Constitution that Jewell was a possible suspect for the pipe-bombing at Centennial Park during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. From that moment on, Jewell went from a hero, who first discovered the suspicious abandoned backpack and saved hundreds of lives, to one of the most hated men in America.”

Sam will play “the attorney who defends Jewell after he is wrongly accused.” The role of Jewell has not been cast yet.

Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio were originally attached to star (Leonardo in Sam Rockwell‘s role), but they will reportedly now produce and not star.

Clint Eastwood Reteams with Bradley Cooper for 'The Mule' - Watch the Trailer!

Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper are working together again on the upcoming movie The Mule and the first trailer has been released!

The guys previously worked together on the massive hit American Sniper.

Eastwood stars in and directs the new movie, in which he plays a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel.

This marks Eastwood‘s first time on both sides of the camera since 2009′s Gran Torino!

Also starred in the movie are Laurence Fishburne, Michael Pena, Dianne Wiest, Taissa Farmiga, and Andy Garcia. The Mule hits theaters on December 14.
