The Melrose Place star just wrapped a new feature, Something Borrowed, out next year.

Pic centers on 30-year-old single Manhattan attorney (Ginnifer Goodwin). This consummate good-girl gets drunk on her 30th birthday and ends up sleeping with her selfish best friend’s fiancé Dexter (Egglesfield). Kate Hudson plays Ginnifer‘s best friend while John Krasinski play Ginnifer‘s grade-school confidant.

Kate Hudson and Colin Egglesfield get playful with each other and roll around on the beach as they film a scene for Something Borrowed in the Hamptons of New York on Thursday (May 20).

Colin, 37, and Kate, 31, were also seen on Wednesday kissing during another scene for the movie. John Krasinski was also seen shooting some scenes in the Hamptons.

The 31-year-old actress cracked up between takes with Colin and co-star Ginnifer Goodwin – looks like a fun shoot!

Last week, Kate was named the new face of Almay cosmetics! She’ll appear in print, internet and TV ads for the makeup giant.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin comes out to support director/actor Edward Burns at the Heineken-sponsored after-party for his new movie, Nice Guy Johnny, during the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival at NYC’s City Hall Restaurant on Friday (April 23).

Also in attendance: Ed‘s wife (and model) Christy Turlington, Zach Braff, Melrose Place‘s Colin Egglesfield and Nice Guy‘s Kerry Bishé and Anna Wood.

Ashlee Simpson and co-star Colin Egglesfield‘s story lines on Melrose Place will wrap up in an episode airing on January 2010.

EW‘s Michael Ausiello has an interview with exec producer Todd Slavkin explaining the reasons why.

On the decision to let Ashlee and Colin go: Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show.

On how Ashlee and Colin took the news: They’re total professionals and they took it like professionals. When you go into a show you never know what’s going to evolve and what the possibilities are. But because they knew ahead of time [that leaving was a possibility], it wasn’t a complete shock.

New characters to be (re)introduced include Heather Locklear and Brooke Burns.

Here is your very first look at the new Melrose Place, scheduled to debut Fall 2009 on The CW.
