San Diego Comic-Con 2020 Canceled Amid Pandemic

“For the first time in its 50-year history San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organizers behind the annual pop culture celebration, announced today with deep regret that there will be no Comic-Con in 2020. The event will instead return to the San Diego Convention Center from July 22-25, 2021,” their official website statement reads.

“Recognizing that countless attendees save and plan for its conventions each year, and how many exhibitors and stakeholders rely upon its events for a major portion of their livelihood, they had hoped to delay this decision in anticipation that COVID-19 concerns might lessen by summer. Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year.

Similarly, WonderCon Anaheim, which was to have been held April 10-12, 2020 will return to the Anaheim Convention Center from March 26-28, 2021.” Click here for the

Stephen Amell Gets 'Emotional' During Last Comic-Con With 'Arrow' Cast

The Arrow cast is dishing on the “cinematic” eighth and final season at 2019 Comic-Con!

Stephen Amell, who portrays Oliver Queen on the CW show, stepped out for the TV Guide Magazine Fan Favorites panel at San Diego Convention Center on Friday (July 19) in San Diego.

He was joined by The Flash‘s Candice Patton (Iris West).

Stephen‘s other co-stars Rick Gonzalez (Rene Ramirez), Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance), and Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake) attended BuzzFeed Presents: A Batsh!t Crazy Bash With The CW’s Batwoman at San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter.

“Last night was super emotional,” Stephen told ET at the event. “It actually caught me off guard, the number of people who came up [to me.] The director of Supergirl took like five minutes to thank me – which feels weird – for getting their break on Arrow.”

“It feels great,” he added about the upcoming season. “I think that [for] the cast and the crew, it’s starting to feel a teensy bit like a victory lap. It feels awesome … I was about to drop an F-bomb, but it feels awesome!”

“I think it’s a tribute,” David Ramsey (John Diggle) chimed in. “There’s a certain amount of what Stephen said: a victory lap. There’s a lot of stuff from the past. There’ll be some old faces that will show up. And I think, in terms of the pacing, it’s changed because we usually do this in 22 episodes, and now we’re doing it in 10, so it’s going to have the sense of a movie every time you watch an episode.”

“It almost feels cinematic,” Katie, who will be directing episode three, shared. “Each episode is huge.”

Catch Stephen Amell in the final season of Arrow when it premieres on October 15!
