Martha Stewart has received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and she shared a short video clip from the procedure.

The 79-year-old chef and businesswoman also responded to concerns that fans might have about her “jumping the line” to get the vaccine.

Martha said on Instagram, “I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine pod near the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Downtown. I am so proud of and grateful to the doctors, nurses and medical staff who are wading through the red tape and confusion of the distribution of these very important vaccines.”

“I am excited to have received my dosage and look forward to the booster. The doctors told me 10,000 applications were received by Mount Sinai right after the state released this batch of vaccines. Here’s to the advancement of science and a heartfelt thanks to those working on the vaccines. We are all hoping for an end to this pandemic,” Martha continued.

She concluded the post by saying, “To allay your concerns that I jumped the line know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and I waited in line with others.”

Two Gorillas at San Diego Zoo Test Positive For Coronavirus

Gorillas are the latest animal species to have tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus.

Two of San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park gorillas have tested positive after showing signs of coughing and congestion, director Lisa Peterson revealed, via People.

Preliminary tests run on the two gorillas detected COVID-19 on Friday, and the The U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) confirmed the results today.

“The troop remains quarantined together and are eating and drinking. We are hopeful for a full recovery,” she shared.

Lisa also hypothesized that while staff has been wearing PPE around the animals for years, the gorillas could have picked it up from one who was asymptotic for the virus.

“For almost one year our team members have been working tirelessly, with the utmost determination to protect each other and the wildlife in our care from this highly contagious virus,” she added. “The safety of our staff and the wildlife in our care remains our number one priority.”

Lions and Tigers were the first to test positive for coronavirus, as well as household cats, in the early days of the pandemic.

House Reps Refused To Wear Face Masks During U.S. Capitol Breach Prompting Fears It Could Turn Into A Super Spreader Event

A physician is speaking out after it was revealed that several members of the U.S. Congress went maskless during the Capitol Breach earlier this week.

In a new video from the lockdown situation, where lawmakers were held safe in a room inside the building during the riot, a few key representatives were seen refusing a mask to wear.

The masks were distributed by Delaware rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, CNN reports, and the video shows that the group in question – Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Oklahoma Rep. Markwayne Mullin, Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs, Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry, Texas Rep. Michael Cloud and California Rep. Doug LaMalfa – did not take the masks offered.

Ms. Rochester told CNN after the video was unearthed that she was “very concerned we were sitting in a super-spreader event but instead of sitting back and lamenting, I tried to go into action to try and persuade people to put them on.”

“By the end of passing them out, I only had one left in my hand offering them to everyone,” she said. “I was disappointed in those who didn’t accept the masks but was encouraged by those who did. At least we were a little bit safer.”

Ms. Greene‘s office then provided a statement on the matter.

“Congresswoman Greene is a healthy adult who tested negative for COVID at the White House just this week. She does not believe healthy Americans should be forced to muzzle themselves with a mask. America needs to reopen and get back to normal.”

Now, Brian Monaghan, the attending physician to Congress, has put out a memo in warning to the House, advising them what to look out for as he fears it could have turned into a super spreader event.

The fear is due to Kansas rep Jake LaTurner, who tested positive for coronavirus, just a day after the riot happened, and had spent a day trying to convince Congress to stop Joe Biden‘s victory in the Presidential election.

“On Wednesday, January 6, many members of the House community were in protective isolation in room located in a large committee hearing space,” the doctor wrote in an email. “The time in this room was several hours for some and briefer for others. During this time, individuals may have been exposed to another occupant with coronavirus infection.”

He added that those who are experiencing symptoms to continue social distancing and wear a mask, and added that “individuals should obtain an RT-PCR coronavirus test next week as a precaution.”

Here's How Lisa Vanderpump's Husband Ken Todd Got the COVID-19 Vaccine Without Being a Medical Worker

Lisa Vanderpump‘s husband Ken Todd has received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, even though he is not a medical worker or a first responder.

The 75-year-old reality star, who appears alongside his wife on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, lucked out by receiving a vaccine that was hours away from spoiling.

CELEBS WHO RECEIVED THE VACCINE: See who else has already gotten it!

TMZ reported that a lot of people who are cleared to receive the vaccine have been no-shows at their appointments. Instead of wasting the vaccines, which have expiration dates, clinics are giving them to people who might not be on the priority list yet.

Ken received his vaccine at the Men’s Health Clinic in Inglewood, Calif. His doctor reportedly informed him that a dose could be available for him at the clinic. Because Ken is 75 and has two underlying health conditions, he was given a dose. Lisa, who waited in line with him, did not get one.

Los Angeles County Health officials are reportedly coming up with a better vaccine distribution protocol to make sure that no doses are wasted.
