Jennifer Lopez is getting ready for her fourth marriage, this time with Alex Rodriguez, and she’s opening up about her first two marriages.
The 49-year-old entertainer was previously married to waiter-turned-restaurateur Ojani Noa, choreographer Cris Judd, and singer Marc Anthony.
Jennifer married Ojani in 1997 and they got divorced in 1998. She married Cris in 2001 and they were divorced in 2002.
“I’ve been married three times, and once was nine months and once was 11 months, so I don’t really count those,” Jennifer said in a new behind-the-scenes video on her YouTube channel. “But I was married to Marc for 10 years, with the kids. I was very young the first two times I tried to get married.”
Jennifer opened up about the motivation for getting married at a young age.
“It seems like in this life you’re always surrounded by people, you’re never lonely—but it’s very lonely. So you always want somebody with you,” she explained. “And I felt like if I got married, I felt like I would always have somebody, but that’s not how life works. That’s a bad reason to get married. The right one is when you find someone who really makes you better.”
