Danielle Macdonald paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday (September 12) and dished about her new Netflix mini-series, Unbelievable!

“It is intense, it’s a true story about these two detectives who track down a serial-rapist,” the 28-year-old actress expressed to Jimmy, adding that most of her work has debuted on Netflix.

“I don’t know how that happened, I had two Netflix things that came out back to back,” Danielle continued.

Danielle Macdonald also talked about growing up in Sydney, Australia, moving to Los Angeles in 2010, having a scary experience in Hollywood and acclimating to America.

Danielle Macdonald, Evan Peters, and Tilda Cobham-Hervey step out for the premiere of I Am Woman on Thursday night (September 5) at The Elgin in Toronto, Canada.

The stars premiered their new movie at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

Also in attendance at the premiere was director Unjoo Moon.

The movie follows the rise of singer-songwriter Helen Reddy (Tilda), whose song “I Am Woman” became the anthem for the women’s movement in the 1970s.

Danielle Macdonald and Kaitlyn Dever strike a pose alongside their co-star Merritt Wever while attending the cast and crew screening of their Netflix series Unbelievable held at The Landmark on Monday evening (August 26) in Los Angeles.

The three ladies were also joined at the event by co-star Eric Lange, as well as showrunner Susannah Grant, producers Sarah Timberman and Lisa Cholodenko, and Netflix original series VP’s Allie Goss and Cindy Holland.

Synopsis: Inspired by real events, a teen reports (Kaitlyn Dever) and eventually recants her reported rape, while two female detectives (Wever and Toni Collette), states away, investigate evidence that could reveal the truth.

Based on The Marshall Project and ProPublica Pulitzer Prize-winning article, “An Unbelievable Story of Rape,” written by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong, and the This American Life radio episode, “Anatomy of Doubt,” Unbelievable is a story of unspeakable trauma, unwavering tenacity, and astounding resilience.

During a recent interview, Jamie Bell opened up about what it was like playing a white supremacist in the film.

The first trailer for Netflix’s new limited series, Unbelievable, has just debuted.

Unbelievable is inspired by the real events in The Marshall Project and ProPublica Pulitzer Prize-winning article, “An Unbelievable Story of Rape,” written by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong, and the This American Life radio episode, “Anatomy of Doubt”.

Kaitlyn Dever stars as teenager Marie Adler, who files a police report claiming she’s been sexually assaulted by an intruder in her home, and the investigating detectives, as well as the people closest to her, come to doubt the truth of her story.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, detectives Grace Rasmussen and Karen Duvall (Toni Collette, Merritt Wever) meet while investigating an eerily similar pair of intruder rapes and partner to catch a potential serial rapist.

The series will debut on September 13th.

The fantasy film is directed by Alice Waddington.

Here’s the synopsis: “On an isolated island, Uma (Emma Roberts) wakes up to find herself at Paradise Hills, a facility where high-class families send their daughters to become perfect versions of themselves.”

It continues, “The facility is run by the mysterious Duchess (Milla Jovovich) where calibrated treatments including etiquette classes, vocal lessons, beauty treatments, gymnastics and restricted diets, revolve all physical and emotional shortcomings within two months. The outspoken Uma finds solace and friendship in other Paradise Hills residents — Chloe (Danielle McDonald), Yu (Awkwafina) and Mexican popstar Amarna (Eiza Gonzalez). Uma soon realizes that lurking behind all this beauty is a sinister secret. It’s a race against the clock as Uma and her friends try to escape Paradise Hills before it consumes them all.”

Paradise Hills also stars Jeremy Irvine and Arnaud Valois.
