Broadway's 'Moulin Rouge' Cast Performs Thrilling Opening Number on 'GMA' - Watch Now!

The cast of Broadway’s hit new musical Moulin Rouge took over Good Morning America to give fans across the country an inside look at the show’s opening number!

Danny Burstein, Aaron Tveit, and the show’s talented ensemble appeared on the morning program on Tuesday morning (February 18), live from the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City.

The cast performed a condensed version of the “Welcome to the Moulin Rouge” opening number, which includes such songs as “Lady Marmalade,” “Because We Can,” and “Burning Down the House.”

Moulin Rouge is currently playing on Broadway eight times a week and it has been sold out for every single performance so far, so make sure to get your tickets now!

Broadway Stars Gather to Celebrate the 2020 Grammy Awards!

The stars of Broadway stepped out to celebrate the upcoming 2020 Grammy Awards at a special nominee celebration earlier this week in New York City.

Jagged Little Pill‘s Kathryn Gallagher and Elizabeth Stanley joined the stars of shows nominated in the Best Musical Theater Album category this year. The event was hosted by the Recording Academy New York Chapter, which just celebrated its 61st anniversary.

Ain’t Too Proud, Hadestown, Moulin Rouge, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and Oklahoma are all up for the award this year.

Hadestown‘s Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada, Moulin Rouge‘s Aaron Tveit, Karen Olivo, and Danny Burstein, and Ain’t Too Proud‘s Saint Aubyn, Jawan Jackson, Derrick Baskin, James Harkness, and Ephraim Sykes were all there to represent their shows.

We bet Jagged Little Pill will be nominated next year!

The Grammy Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, January 26 in Los Angeles.

You can experience the Broadway musical Moulin Rouge from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you listen to music) thanks to the new cast recording!

Karen Olivo, Aaron Tveit, Danny Burstein, and the cast of the new Broadway show can be heard on the album, which features such songs as “Come What May” and the “Elephant Love Medley.”

The music for the Broadway musical differs from the music heard in the movie, though there are still some familiar tunes. The new musical uses contemporary songs like Katy Perry‘s “Firework,” Sia‘s “Chandelier,” Pink‘s “Raise Your Glass,” and dozens of other hits.

The musical, directed by Tony nominee Alex Timbers, is based on the movie directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Also starring in the musical are Danny Burstein as Harold Zidler, Tam Mutu as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, and Robyn Hurder as Nini.

Aaron Tveit Joins 'Moulin Rouge' Co-Stars at Tony Awards 2019!

Aaron Tveit, Danny Burstein, and Karen Olivo walk the red carpet at the 2019 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 9) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The three Broadway stars will be leading the cast of the upcoming stage adaptation of Moulin Rouge, which kicks off performances on June 28.

Aaron, Danny, and Karen are presenting the Creative Arts awards, which happen before the telecast begins. They’ll also appear during the show to quickly recap the winners for the audience at home.

If you didn’t know, Karen is a former Tony winner and Danny has six nominations to his name!

Kristin Chenoweth Is Crowned Prom Queen at Broadway's 'The Prom' Opening!

Kristin Chenoweth wears a “Prom Queen” sash while walking the red carpet at the opening night performance of the new Broadway musical The Prom on Thursday night (November 15) at the Longacre Theatre in New York City.

The Tony-winning actress was joined at the event by fellow Tony winner Sutton Foster, as well as Danny Burstein, Victor Garber, Lilli Cooper, Lesli Margherita, and American Idol‘s Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard.

Kristin raved about the show on Instagram after the performance.

“Go see the Broadway musical @theprommusical NOW! It’s perfect. #bestnewmusical,” she wrote.

Aaron Tveit & Karen Olivo Celebrate 'Moulin Rouge' Gala Performance in Boston!

Aaron Tveit and Karen Olivo pose for a photo at the special gala performance for Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Sunday night (July 29) at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston, Mass.

The two stars were joined by co-stars Danny Burstein and Tam Mutu to celebrate the special performance.

The musical’s pre-Broadway run is currently running in Boston through August 19. There is no Broadway run currently scheduled, but it would be surprising if the show doesn’t transfer!
