Russell Crowe may soon be boarding the Ark in the upcoming film Noah.

The 47-year-old actor is in talks to play the title character in Darren Aronofsky‘s Biblical film, which could begin filming this July.

“In Aronofsky’s take on the classic tale, Noah is a man who loves Earth and all of its animal inhabitants, but has become disillusioned with the way humans have treated their planet,” Variety‘s Showblitz reports.

Russell is currently working on the big screen adaptation of Les Miserables and can also next be seen in the Superman action flick Man of Steel.

The 43-year-old English actor and his 41-year-old sweetheart were joined by Rachel‘s son, Henry.

Darren Aronofsky and his son Henry hail a cab back to their east side neighborhood of New York City on Sunday (June 26).

Just the evening before, news broke that Darren‘s ex-partner Rachel Weisz tied the knot to Daniel Craig earlier in the week.

Henry was one of only four guests in attendance at the ceremony. The other guests included Daniel‘s 18-year-old daughter Ella, as well as two family friends who served as witnesses.

Darren is currently gearing up to start his next project, a big budget retelling of the Noah’s Ark story!

The 29-year-old actress stars opposite Pharrell Williams (who also wrote and produced the music in the ad). Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) directed the spot!

“[Pharrell]’s such a great person and I’m a huge fan of his music, so I was excited when he was chosen to participate,” Jess told Elle recently. “I think having someone like him incorporated into the commercial really makes it stand out.”

Rachel Weisz and estranged partner, Darren Aronofsky hail a cab together on Thursday (February 17) in New York City.

The 40-year-old British actress and the 42-year-old director first announced their split back in November.

Rachel recently finished working with Daniel Craig in the upcoming mystery thriller Dream House, where they play an on-screen couple. They have since been spotted together frequently holding hands.
