Channing Tatum is set to star in a remake of the 1984 film Splash with a special role-reversal planned.
The 36-year-old actor will be taking on the role of the mermaid character originated by Daryl Hannah in the film, while Jillian Bell will take on the role made famous by Tom Hanks in the original, THR reports.
The original synopsis of the film reads: A young man (Hanks) is reunited with a mermaid (Hannah) who saves him from drowning as a boy and falls in love not knowing who/what she is.
Jillian and Channing previously worked together on 22 Jump Street.
