'Dirty Dancing' Remake Stays True to Original With One Big Addition!

The Dirty Dancing remake stays true to the original movie from 1987.

“For the most part it really does stay true to the original and all the things that people loved about the first one,” Abigail Breslin told E! News. “We’re adding something to it,” Colt Prattes added. Colt and Abigail play the roles made famous by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze in the original movie.

“The thing that was exciting to me was you find out what happens to Baby and Johnny years later,” Debra Messing, who plays Baby‘s mom, added. Baby and Johnny’s fate together was never addressed in the original film.

Also starring in the upcoming made for television movie are Sarah Hyland as Lisa Houseman, Katey Sagal as Vivian Pressman, Nicole Scherzinger as Penny Rivera, Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Jake Houseman, Billy Dee Williams as Tito, Shane Harper as Robbie Gould, Trevor Einhorn as Neil Kellerman, Casper Smart as Billy Kotsecki, and J. Quinton Johnson as Marco.

The remake is set to air tonight on ABC – be sure to tune in!

Debra Messing Calls Out Ivanka Trump During Passionate GLAAD Awards Speech (Video)

Debra Messing has some words for Ivanka Trump, who she called out during her passionate acceptance speech at the 2017 GLAAD Media Awards in New York City over the weekend.

The Will & Grace actress was honored with the Excellence in Media Award and gave a nine-minute speech in which she opened up about her thoughts on politics, social issues, and more.

“It’s not enough to simply say that women’s issues are important to you,” Ivanka said while referring to the First Daughter. “It’s time to do something. Ivanka, you can change the lives of millions of women and children just by telling your dad stories about real people who are suffering. Don’t let him separate immigrant mothers from their American-born children. Don’t let him take health care away from women who need it. Don’t allow him to make trans kids like Gavin [Grimm] fight in court for their basic human dignity.”

Debra Messing Reveals Why 'Will & Grace' Reboot Is Happening Now

Debra Messing is on the cover of Haute Living New York‘s new issue.

Here’s what the 48-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On the Will & Grace reboot: “We need the show now more than ever…It was unique in how it cast light on issues in our culture that needed mending or strengthening. Everything happening culturally now will be fodder for the comedy.”

On returning to the Will & Grace set: “It was incredible and very emotional to walk on that set—every prop was still there. The original crew—the costumer, hair, and makeup—came back too.”

On actors she’d love to work with: “Meryl Streep. I mean come on, right? Viola Davis. She and I know each other from when we first got out of school—I was at NYU; she was at Juilliard. Viola is a beast of a talent.”
