Fifth Harmony Is Closer Than Ever: 'Communication is Really Important'

Fifth Harmony channels some major ’90s vibes on the cover of Galore magazine, available now.

Here’s what the group – Ally Brooke, Dinah Hansen, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei – had to share with the mag:

Dinah on new Fifth Harmony music: “We’ve been creating sounds that we’ve been wanting to touch base on. Some R&B tones, some rhythmic tones. It’s been amazing to create with one another because we’re so different when it comes to music. We love different genres. So to vibe together and create this Fifth Harmony sound is what makes it so special.”

Normani on the girl groups before them: “It’s important to have strong individuals [like Spice Girls, Supremes, TLC] to paint the way for us. Without them doing what they did for music, and being our introduction, we probably wouldn’t even be!”

Ally on the group’s friendship: “It’s really great because the four of us are really in sync with each other. We’re pretty open about most things. We try to respect each other as much as we can. For us, communication is really important. Also we enjoy a lot of the same things as each other! Like going to get frozen yogurt, or go to the movies, or talk about boys, exchange music, have fun at the red carpet and encourage each other with, ‘Hey you look beautiful!’”

Lauren on the group’s legacy: “I think we lowkey have [left a legacy like the mentioned girl groups]. We’ve made an impressionable mark as far as girl groups go in the industry. I’m proud of us.”

Fifth Harmony To Support & Perform On Dancing With The Stars' Most Memorable Year Monday Night Episode

Fifth Harmony is set to take the stage at Dancing With The Stars on Monday (April 10)!

The group – Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane – recently wrapped up their Asian tour and were previously announced to be in the audience to support group mate Normani Kordei as she competes, and now a source reveals they are going to perform as well, according to People.

Normani and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy have been traveling back and forth for the first few weeks of the competition so she can do the tour and compete for the mirror ball trophy.

The two will be dancing a Rumba to “Impossible” — which just happens to be the song that the group (all five) first performed on The X Factor together back in 2012!

John Mayer Apparently Has Opinions About Fifth Harmony

John Mayer seemingly thinks Fifth Harmony was better as a five-some – and may be offering his services.

The 39-year-old musician was doing an Instagram Live video with fans while playing piano.

“So I like Fifth Harmony, but then Camila Cabello left the band and now it’s just this,” he said, playing what four notes sound like as opposed to five notes in a harmony.

“If you really wanted to add me, you’d get this,” he said to a sixth note. “And that’s one too many notes. Point being: Hi, Camila.”
