He reportedly explained that he was “too old to be doing the things he’s doing.”

The judge gave him one year in prison, with three years of supervised release upon his exit from jail. Federal prosecutors were initially pushing for the maximum sentencing, which would have been five years in jail, especially because he failed a drug test while out on bond.

DMX pled guilty to one count of tax evasion this past November as part of a deal struck by his attorneys. Before the deal, he was facing 14 counts and 40 years in jail.

Rapper DMX Reportedly Headed to Rehab After Postponing Concerts

Rapper DMX has reportedly checked into a rehab facility following a string of postponed tour dates.

Earlier this week, the 46-year-old rapper cited a “medical emergency” when announcing that three tour dates would be postponed.

According to TMZ, DMX willingly checked himself into a facility on Thursday night (April 27) with the support of his manager and ex-wife.

DMX reportedly made the decision to go to rehab an effort to make sure he stayed on the right path.

“It is important right now that he take some time off to focus on his health so that he can be a better father, friend and entertainer,” his manger Pat Gallo said in a statement.

He added, “We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of concern and support that has poured in. We ask that you please keep X in your prayers as he embraces your support.”

Rapper DMX was hospitalized on Monday (February 8) after falling unconscious at the Ramada Inn in Yonkers, New York.

Cops arrived and immediately administered CPR to the 45-year-old rapper’s lifeless body, TMZ reports. His pulse came back after CPR was administered. Police reportedly also gave DMX Narcan, which is an antidote for drug overdoses.

DMX is reportedly in stable condition as of right now. There are reports that DMX was seen taking a white powder, but he is denying those rumors. He says he remembers feeling short of breath after having bronchitis over the past few days.

We’re wishing DMX a speedy recovery and hope he is doing well.
