Dolce & Gabbana Will Stop Using Real Fur In Their Collections & Transition to Eco-Friendly Faux Fur

Dolce & Gabbana have made the decision to ditch the fur in their future fashion collections.

The announcement, via ETCanada, shared that the fashion house would not be making any real fur garments in the future, and instead, transition to eco-friendly faux fur.

Dolce & Gabbana is the latest fashion house to join the movement, and adhere to guidelines set by the Fur Free Alliance, a network of animal rights groups around the world. Others include Armani, Gucci, Prada and Moncler.

“Dolce&Gabbana is working toward a more sustainable future that can’t contemplate the use of animal fur,” Fedele Usai, Dolce&Gabbana communications and marketing officer, said in a statement.

PJ Smith, the fashion policy director of the Human Society of the United States and the Humane Society International, said “ending the use of fur creates a higher standard for what is acceptable in fashion.”

Last year, Kim Kardashian opened up about what she did to all the furs she used to wear.

Zoe Saldana Won't Boycott Dolce & Gabbana: It Would Be the 'Stupidest Thing'

Zoe Saldana has opened up about the Dolce & Gabbana controversy, where many celebrities have announced a desire to boycott the fashion brand after their comments about “synthetic children.”

When asked if she too would boycott the brand, the 36-year-old actress responded, “No! Not at all, that would be the stupidest thing if it affected my fashion choice. People are allowed to their own opinion, however, I wouldn’t have chosen to be so public about something that’s such a personal thing.”

“Obviously it caused some sensitivity, but then again if you continue to follow the news, you see they all kinda hugged it out, so why are we making a big deal about it?” Zoe continued to E! News.

Madonna Slams Dolce & Gabbana: 'Think Before You Speak'

Madonna is the latest celebrity to slam fashion designers and openly gay couple Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana for the controversial comments they made about IVF and gay adoption.

The 56-year-old entertainer has worn outfits designed by the men on many occasions (including in the photo used here) and has even modeled in their campaigns. Her MDNA concert film premiere was also sponsored by the fashion brand back in 2013.

“All babies contain a soul however they come to this earth and their families,” Madonna wrote on Instagram. “There is nothing synthetic about a soul!! So how can we dismiss IVF and surrogacy? Every soul comes to us to teach us a lesson. God has his hand in everything even technology! We are arrogant to think Man does anything on his own. As above so below! Think before you speak… ❤️#livingforlove.”

Stefano has fired back at the controversy not once, but two times already.

Dolce & Gabbana Explain Their Controversial Comments About 'Synthetic Children'

Fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have given an interview to explain their controversial comments about IVF and “synthetic children.”

“I believe in the traditional family,” Dolce told CNN. “It is impossible to change my culture for something different. It’s me… I respect all the world, all the culture.”

Stefano wanted to make clear that he wasn’t preaching how to live life. “We love gay couple. We are gay. We love gay couple. We love gay adoption. We love everything. It’s just an express of my private point of view,” he said.

“I love the music of Elton John,” Dolce said about wanting to end the controversy. “Every people resolve everything by talk… we start to talk, the problem is resolved. Every people [has] freedom for choosing what they want. This for me is democracy. I respect you because you choose what you want. I respect me because I choose what I want… This just my point of private view.”

“Boycott Dolce & Gabbana for what? They don’t think like you? This is correct? This is not correct. We are in 2015. This is like medieval. It’s not correct,” Stefano added.

Elton John and lots of other celebrities have spoken out against the fashion duo after their controversial comments.

Stefano Gabbana Fires Back at Elton John: ‘He’s Ignorant’

Fashion designer Stefano Gabbana is firing back at Elton John after the singer called for a boycott of Dolce & Gabbana after hearing the pair’s comments on IVF.

“I wasn’t expecting it. I wasn’t expecting it from someone like Elton John I used to think – and I stress ‘used to’ – was intelligent,” Stefano told Italian newspaper Corrier Della Sera. “What’s going on? You preach understanding. You preach tolerance. And then you put the knife in? All because someone else doesn’t see things your way? Is that supposed to be a democratic way of thinking? Enlightened? He’s ignorant, in the sense that he denies ways of seeing things that may not be his but are just as deserving of respect”.

The openly-gay couple and fashion designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, originally said that people “are born to a mother and a father. Or at least that’s how it should be.” They also referred to children of chemistry as “synthetic children.”

Ryan Murphy Slams Dolce & Gabbana Over IVF Comments

Ryan Murphy is slamming fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana for the comments they made about people having children via in vitro fertilization and gay adoption.

“This is not just a gay issue,” the 49-year-old producer and filmmaker told THR. “I know 10 women in my life who used IVF to conceive – and three doing it right now. IVF is a scientific miracle that helps loving families fulfill their dreams. To tell them their choices as women – anyone’s choices on family – are not embraced, well, I don’t think they’ll be traipsing off to a Dolce & Gabbana store to buy clothes anytime soon.”

“[The gay community] always embraced their clothes. It’s so ignorant of Dolce & Gabbana to speak out with such ugly evil – what they said is a not-modern thing to say. There are all kinds of families today,” he added.

Make sure to read Elton John‘s comments that started the boycott in Hollywood.

Ryan also tweeted about the boycott. See it below.
