George Clooney looks sharp as he enters a press conference at National Press Club on Monday (September 12) in Washington, D.C.
The 55-year-old actor, who was joined by his fellow actor and human rights activist Don Cheadle, discussed their two-year undercover investigation into the war profiteering performed by South Sudan’s top leaders.
They went on to explain how this corruption has turned the country into one of the world’s deadliest war zones. The findings come from The Sentry, an initiative co-founded by George.
“You can’t shame war criminals – we’ve learned that over the years,” George told the room of journalists. “But you can shame banks and people. And we have the moral obligation and ability to act. We cannot continue to look away. History is watching.”
He added, “Investigate us. But don’t take our word for it. Investigate it yourself. Look at the information with an open mind.”
George was also spotted heading to visit President Obama at the White House after the conference.
