Courtney Stodden is opening up about her divorce from Doug Hutchison.

The 25-year-old star opened up in an emotional post on her Instagram on Tuesday (March 3).

“It’s March 3rd, 2020 – today I am officially divorced from actor Doug Hutchison. It’s an emotional day for me. God only knows how he’s feeling, but I can tell you that it’s for the better. I look back at this picture and feel absolutely taken advantage of. I’ve been scared to even speak up about feeling groomed or being verbally abused during the almost 10 year marriage because I was a child and he was 50 when we married but I’m a woman now and it’s time for me to put my big girl pants on and speak on this matter. I’ve felt completely trapped, manipulated and at times abandoned by adults // growing up in such an environment — it became a lonely and dark place. Stay tuned for my book,” she wrote.

“And to Doug… I’ll always love you; yet I’ll always be angry. You’ve left me — a child woman, feeling belittled and confused. These things I shall overcome. I wish you well. But please don’t ever do this to another minor again. It’s not right… even if the parent signs off. Wait a respectable amount of time before marrying. Children aren’t on your level. I’ll always love you regardless. Be better. As shall I.”

Earlier in 2020, the details of their divorce settlement surfaced.

Courtney Stodden has tragically suffered a miscarriage after announcing that she was expecting a baby with her husband Doug Hutchison.

“It is with a heavy heart to inform you that last week Courtney Stodden suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage,” the 21-year-old’s manager told People in a statement. “Courtney and her husband, Doug, are at an emotional loss for words and are using this time to grieve with their close family and friends.

“Please respect their privacy as the couple try to cope with losing their precious baby and seek the support they both need,” the statement continued.

Doug and Courtney had been at the subject of controversy when she married him at the age of 16. He is 34 years her senior.

“It’s a bittersweet time for me right now. I’m dealing with a lot of stress and emotions surrounding life and its ups and downs,” Courtney told Us Weekly to confirm that she is with child. “Doug and I weren’t planning on going public with this so soon. I’m only four weeks along in my pregnancy. But some things are out of your control.”

Courtney and Doug‘s anniversary is on May 20. They tied the knot back in 2011 and later appeared on Couples Therapy in 2012. The couple ended up splitting in November 2013, but they got back together in August 2014.
