The first trailer for the BBC’s highly anticipated Dracula series is here!

The trailer for the latest adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic arrived just in time for Halloween on Sunday (October 27).

The Claes Bang-led series is a co-production between BBC One and Netflix, and consists of three feature-length episodes.

The script was written by Doctor Who and Sherlock writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.

In the trailer, Dracula whispers to a trembling man: “Try and stay calm, you’re doing very well.”

Co-stars include Morfydd Clark, Sacha Dhawan, Jonathan Aris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Lyndsey Marshal, Chanel Cresswell, Matthew Beard and Lydia West.

The creators of the hit series Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, are bringing Dracula to the small-screen and they’ve officially announced the casting of the leading man for the title role.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web actor Claes Bang will be taking on the role!

“I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Dracula, especially when the script is in the hands of the incredible talents of Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss and the team responsible for Sherlock,” Claes told EW in a statement. “I’m so excited that I get to dig in to this iconic and super-interesting character. Yes he’s evil, but there’s also so much more to him, he’s charismatic, intelligent, witty and sexy. I realize that there’s a lot to live up to with all the amazing people that have played him over the years, but I feel so privileged, to be taking on this incredible character.”

The period drama will be set in 1987 and will “revolve around the blood-drinking count from Transylvania who sets his sights on Victorian London.”

The Dracula mini-series will be available to stream on Netflix in the US.

Dracula centers on the legendary bloodsucker “as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There’s only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.”
