Dwayne Johnson Rips His Shirt Off on 'Esquire' August Cover!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson rips his shirt off while posing for the cover of Esquire‘s August 2015 issue.

Here is what the 43-year-old Ballers actor had to share with the mag:

On transitioning from wrestling to acting: “I’ve been through all this other sh-t before. I never quite understood why if you’re successful in something, and then you want to make the transition to Hollywood, why wouldn’t you apply the same discipline and processes that you did with wrestling and football? Which meant: surround myself with great acting coaches; definitely get a good director; I need great actors around me to help me raise my game; I don’t know what the f–k I’m doing… I have been told I have potential. I think I do. Let’s give it a go. And that allows more people to say, ‘Okay, let’s give it a shot.’ Compared to: I think I’m gonna be great. I’m gonna make 30, 40 movies.”

On his high pitch singing voice: “In Polynesian culture, the men run 300, 350 pounds and the women are even bigger. But Polynesian men are known for singing in a pitch that is soft falsetto singing. It sounds amazing. That’s just how they sing, at a very high pitch in an octave that’s very falsetto and soft. I fool them with my voice. I’m singing in Disney’s next animated musical, called Moana.”

On a special letter he received: “About three weeks ago, I’m here at the house and I get a letter—’Been enjoying your movies over the years. Very entertaining. I feel like I’ve really gotten to know you over the years, most recently after watching you host Saturday Night Live. Great job. You continue to go for it. Proud of your work and look forward to meeting you. Steven Spielberg.’”

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Makes a New Buddy After Sideswiping Fan's Truck

Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to talk about an unexpected fan encounter!

“I’m driving to set in my pick up truck – music blasting – I’m singing away like I’m having a one man party in my truck – then I hear a loud BANG. What the hell..? Look in my rear view and see I sideswiped another pick up that was parked in the street and destroyed the side mirror,” the 43-year-old actor shared.

He added, “Just as I got out of my truck a guy was walking across the street to his truck. I said ‘Sir, is this your truck?’ He stopped and stared at me for a good 5 seconds, looked around his neighborhood, looked back at me and ‘Yes it is. Why?’ I said ‘Well, sorry to tell ya I sideswiped it and knocked the hell outta your mirror and may have done even more damage.”

“He stared at me again, cocked his head sideways and said..’Uhhh.. Are you The Rock?’ I said ‘Yup’. He broke out into a huge smile and said ‘Wow, this is gonna be an awesome story!’ I started belly laughing at that, then he started laughing and before you know it we’re both standing in the middle of the street pointing to his mirror and laughing like two ol’ crazy buddies. I checked back in with him a few days later and he refused to accept any money and said he fixed the damage himself,” Dwayne said.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson poses with Carla Gugino on the red carpet at the premiere of San Andreas on Tuesday evening (May 26) at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Also in attendance were their co-stars Archie Panjabi and Ioan Gruffudd (with wife Alice Evans).

At the premiere, Archie spoke to E! News about the awkward final scene between her character Kalinda and Julianna Margulies‘ character Alicia, which was pieced together with CGI as they did not film it alongside each other.

“All I can say is this: the decision making process is not something I’m privy to,” she said.

FYI: Carla is wearing a Rochas dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, a Rauwolf clutch, and Jacob & Co. jewelry.
