Inspired by E.L. James‘ novels of the same name, the Fifty Shades of Grey film franchise caused some controversy with their steamy storylines.

Centered around the dramatic romance between Dakota Johnson‘s Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan‘s Christian Grey, the series kicked off in 2015 and concluded three years later with Fifty Shades Freed.

They remain some of the top-grossing R-rated movies of all time, and they feature an appropriately talented (and wealthy) cast of actors.

We got a little curious and decided to do some digging and looked at the estimated net worth of the biggest celebrities to appear in the movies and ranked them. You might be surprised when you see who comes in first place with an estimated net worth of $150 million!

Dakota Johnson looked radiant in red while at the launch of Fifty Shades Freed‘s new pop-up experience!

The 28-year-old actress was joined by her co-star Jamie Dornan as they celebrated F I F T Y at The House on Sunset on Thursday night (February 1) in West Hollywood, Calif.

They were also joined by cast mates Brant Daugherty, Eloise Mumford, Ashleigh LaThrop, Robinne Lee and Arielle Kebbel as well as author E.L. James.

The new pop-up will allow fans to step into the Fifty Shades world, with six different rooms inspired by the movies, including custom art and props.

Lucky fans in attendance got to check out the experience, open February 2nd through 4th, and watch an advanced screening of the film.

Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters on February 9th.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, the director of the movie Fifty Shades of Grey, is giving further insight into her rocky relationship with the book’s author E.L. James.

It’s no secret that the two ladies clashed on the set of the film and Sam says it’s because they had “two different creative visions.”

“Her vision versus mine, and they were polar opposite,” Sam says in a new interview with THR. “Every scene was fought over. It was tough. It was like wading uphill through sticky tar. Her thing was, ‘This is what the fans expect.’ I’d be like, ‘Well, let’s try and hit those marks but create a new universe at the same time.’”

Sam, who just directed the new series Gypsy for Netflix, says she didn’t get much love from Hollywood after the film was released.

“There weren’t any flat-out [job] offers straight away,” she said. “It was ego-denting, which may not have been a bad thing. At the same time, I was like, ‘Oh, I still have to keep fighting for stuff.’ I just thought it was going to come a lot easier.”

In another recent interview, Sam explained why she will not watch the sequels to her film.

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan continue to make the press rounds for Fifty Shades Darker.

The duo stepped out at the film’s premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday (February 9) in London, England.

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan look like a million bucks together on the red carpet at the Fifty Shades Darker premiere on Tuesday (February 7) at Cinemaxx Dammtor in Hamburg, Germany.

The co-stars were joined at the event by the book’s author E.L. James and her husband Niall Leonard, who wrote the screenplay for the film.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” franchise author E.L. James is celebrating the birthday of her character Anastasia Steele by sharing an excerpt from her upcoming book!

The writer is getting ready to release a new novel telling the events from “Fifty Shades Darker” from the perspective of Christian Grey. The book will “hopefully” be released sometime in 2017.

“Good morning, all. I know you’re anxiously awaiting the trailer, and that’s happening… soon. In the meantime, in honour of Ana’s birthday, there’s this,” E.L. captioned the excerpt on her Facebook account.

Last year, the novel “Grey,” which told the events of the first book from Christian’s perspective, was released.
